Baseline Automated Tuning Beta Now Available for Download

Okay,
Kane the video was helpful, however going to youtube always gets me distracted.
Questions:
1. Ambient Pressure: I'm at 1200feet altitude. Do you have a website that could tell what my ambient pressure is? I'm using 14.1 psi
That is fine - though it won't matter for a MAF car.
2. Manifold PSI Scale: I'm assuming 0 (or 14.7?)for NA? I've never really been able to find any information specific to this, hope I didn't miss it.
AP = use load, look at your AP Fuel Map and the load scale should be the same as your Manifold/Load Scale.
3. What would you input differently for calculating a fuel map for Nitrous?
Nothing - you adjust timing (once you get your target AFR's right). The fueling jets do the rest. You can back off some timing if you want to get into bigger shots.
4. Confirm that nothing you don't have to change anything in the Fueling Strategy tab?
Correct
5. For injector Max/Min duration ms: I used 16ms and 1.7ms sound right?
Yes
Other inputs:
I'm using a Cobb AP with the factory O2 sensor:
AF ratio latency = 620 ms
Logging interval = 350 ms
If that is what you measured then you should be good.

fast question, btw haven't read the past post maybe it's been answered already dont know. when getting the logging interval i go from cruise to off throttle full lean right? now is that from OL criuse or just regular ho humm cruising.

Right so noticed that the ATR logs in 10 ms segments and my Latency is 500ms
Kane, I'm still confused on the Manifold Scale.
You said:
"AP = use load, look at your AP Fuel Map and the load scale should be the same as your Manifold/Load Scale."
I'm not clear which table this is on the ATR, where do I find this?
I see the term Calculated Load in many of the tables like"
-Closed Loop - A/F Targets A (and B)
-Air/Fuel Gear 1-2
-Leading Ignition Main
-Calc. Load Max
If I had to guess:
0.13
0.15
0.19
0.25
0.31
0.38
0.44
0.50
0.56
0.63
0.69
0.75
0.81
0.88
0.94
1.00
1.06
(but in % for the Baseline tuning)
Yes?

Don't think its a loose cap or a vacuum leak, but I will investigate that tomorrow.
Yup I was using the Access Tuner Race Live Tuning option and Data Logging feature.
Should I not use the ATR and stick just with the AP?

Well,
that was completely unsuccessful, I'm just too stupid for this stuff.
I ran through all the options the same as Kane did in his video, it seemed to grind away at producing a MAF Scale but no data was available for me to view.
Same with the Auto Tune. <shrug>
Everything seemed to go alright..... I'll try again in the morning.

did you remember to massage your log file?
the data will be available in the advanced maf screen. watch that part of the video for clarification.
you got the load stuff right. it's all there in the pic i attached.
hang in there. it can make you feel stupid, but that does't last too long.

^^^ Thanks myriadshalaks.
I do believe I massaged the data correctly, however I was never able to get a Tune name to appear in the drop down box in the dialog screen.
I noticed this morning that I forgot to change the time stamps on my log file to ms, I'm sure the f'd things somewhere.
Going to switch back to the AP because I can't figure out how to control the mapping points with the ATR. However I am curious on how you would ever know what Manifold Scale PSI/Load to use if you didn't have the ATR?
The wife is making go Golfing so I'll be gone for a bit, but it does provide more logging time.

The load scale you put up is correct wcs - just change it to percentage since that is how the AP logs it.
Make sure your MAF Scale is set up - and you massage the log files after you import each one.
You can also test it by viewing the cells before tuning.
PM me if you need my phone number man - we can walk through this.

Umm yeah you did i sent the post through my blackberry sooo?? ![Dunno](https://www.rx8club.com/images/smilies/dunno.gif)
Any who does it seem a bit odd to anyone that we're getting different intervals and latencys even though we're using the AP?
AFR latency for me is Approx 900ms
interval is Approx 210ms
Also not sure how much it matters but make sure your setting up you ambient pressure right. At sea level it's 14.7 for me it's roughly 29-30
log attached for my prob bad math.

If you log EVERYTHING available its about 500ms. Take out a few items and the interval will come down. Basically the Cobb can only handle so much data per second. So the less things it has to watch, the more closely it can watch them.

The AFR latency will change depending on how far down your exhaust your 02 sensor is. Thats the main factor in the delay. Mine for instance is very long (1700ms) because I have my sensors on the bottom of my downpipe. Since mine is a topmount it means my gasses have to go all the way up my manifold, through the turbo, then down the downpipe before it is measured.

I can't figure out how on the "ATR" to get data logging for the Injector Output duration and Injector Output Duty Cycle.
So all my data logs do not have the information. Understanding that I should have it, will I still be able to use my data for trial purposes?
If not I guess I'm heading back out to log with the AP.
Mawnee, thanks for the info on the AP logging rate. I had noticed the descriptancy and suspect that was the cause but hadn't tested it to find out.
Kane, I'm also concerned about this P2270 cell my car keeps getting. First it never happens when I have MM's tune programmed in the ECU. Does his stuff block those (or all) cells?
I get that error when I let the car run around 2500 rpm in 5th gear for a short period. If I keep the revs up above 3500 rpm I've not been able to reproduce it (yet).
I've tested this on the Stage 1 map, and the Stock Style map from Cobb and with the AP uninstalled (did this all today).
Without taken everything apart I've done a thorough investigation for Vacuum leaks, and not found anything.
Getting this error code isn't new for me, I think I've seen it for just about as long as I've had the AP. This is just the first time I've really looked in to it. Car seems to run fine.
Now some observations on my data logging mission with Stage 1 installed.
I noticed in 4th gear around 7000 rpm the AFR was around 15.2 and it was starting to struggle.
I'm convinced that the STage 1 tune from Cobb is lean on my car at the top end. Unless this mysterious vacuum leak is causing this. Gawd I hope its not a vacuum leak, I doing the vacuum leak hunt <sigh>.
Right so enuf of that.
Lemme give this another go shall we?

Do you need to get rid of the old data logs that were imported?
I can't seem to get the old ones to delete.
I can find the option from the Navigation Board but selecting it only shows my current tunz.
I can not find the delete function.
I'm using Access 2007 on Vista 64
****update****
Found it.
You need to switch to the Add-Ins tab (page), there the delete record is available.

Setup Maf Scale Enter Parameter Value..... bug?
I've setup my Maf Scale.
However I always get a little dialog box popping you with this parameter request value
= Forms!frmMAFScale!MAFScaleName
I can leave it blank or fill it in, it doesn't matter it always pops up.
The sort is out of sequence in the Maf Scale table as well. Trying to re sequence the sort prompts this same value parameter.

wcs - did you set up your MAF in the options menu?
Also - in the Get Ready for the next tune tab you can pull all your old datalogs out en masse.
Finally - the fuel isn't a huge issue as long as you are ONLY scaling the MAF - once you get into tuning the fuel tables; then you will need it.
That MAFScaleName thing myriadshalaks had too - and it was because he did not set up his MAF Scale in the options tab.
