basic cobb questions

I know the accessport can allow you to read engine codes but can it diagnose bad sensors or other parts that might need replacing, or do you just get an idea of possible issues based on data? If you mount it in a viewable location can it replace gauges or are there certain readings you cant get in real time if at all? Can you adjust the idle rpm? thanks for the help from any ap owners. I'm thinking about purchasing but I want to be as well researched as possible, I've been reading the other threads but couldnt find the exact answers to some questions.

well I was hoping someone who already is using an ap would be able to quickly answer these questions, I found that the idle is set higher but my main concern was having something that could quickly tell me if sensors are bad as well as a feasible replacement for gauges..any input would be helpful

No, it cannot tell you if sensors are bad (other than reading a CEL code).
If you're FI, not great for a gauge replacement, as you can only read one screen at a time.
However if you are NA, the AP can be used for that purpose

ah I won't be doing FI anytime in the near future, if ever, so hopefully it'll fit my needs just to be able to check if everything is within its normal ranges when needed. maybe there is not a good way to determine if sensors are bad without physically looking at them or replacing them

I don't have this, but I want to try it. ScanXL by Palmer Performance.

Has "enhanced" data for Mazda.
