CanScan not Working...

I have been trying to use the canscan for a few weeks now and tried so many things to try to get it to work.

I really don't know whats wrong with the CanScan. I hook everything up but the ECU Status stays yellow...

Does anyone have any idea whats wrong with it, how to fix it, or if there is something wrong I might be doing.

Usually it is the COM port configuration on your computer. Go into the system properties and see which COM port the serial to USB adapter is using...change your CanScan to reflect that...should be good to go.

Yep, that fixed mine as well. I also noticed that I have to use the same USB port on my laptop for some reason. If I use a different one, it does not work.

Do you have the CZ CANScan or the Harrison CANScan? There is a different chip on the CZ unit to correct for proper O2 readings.

I think its the harrison unit, unless the CZ one looks similar.

I already checked the COM port settings... That didn't do anything

Any other ideas?

does the USB to serial adaptor work? If you have a PDA ...check and see if it syncs.

The adapters driver may need to be removed and re-installed?

CanScan may be broken?.....e-mail Dan Harrison and ask him how to test it with the hyperterminal software on the disc

I can't even get the proper driver loaded. My computer doesn't seem to even see the drivers on the disc.
