It simply displays the info the PCM gets from the sensor.

Under load is more accurate than in idle.

Can anybody tell me what sensors or readings make up the Calculated Load value?

Thumbs up I did it :) yeah

A friend had an extra racing beat MAF tube which is 3.5 inches in diameter
I went to a local muffler shop and they cut 2 pipes for me (3.5 inches in diameter).
One 3.5 in long
and
the other 4 in long
(All together with the RB MAF tube is 12 in, look at pics)

Got a few more parts at Pep boys!!

Total spend $50

I haven’t turn the car on yet because I am so tired and cranky (haven’t had more than 4 hours of sleep in 3 days)
Tomorrow is my day off so I would be testing it!

Question
I know I need to reflash my ECU (right now I am in the 3b5b map)
Should I start with the first set of maps that MM sent (v3_0) or the second set (v3b_0)?

Any thoughts?

Start with v3_0. Can you put a screen at the start of the tube, before the MAF? It might make it even better.

RPM and MAF.

It is roughly equal to g/sec per combustion chamber.

Odd,
My STFT & LTFT are perfect so far (both between the +- 6)
However
I am back to being rich again under boost (fixed 10 to low 10s)

I think I will be flashing it back to the 3b_x series!

care to comment MM?

You might just need to have a calibration with the injectors rescaled.
There is a lot of "slop" in the various injector sizes.

UPDATE: After putting in a CAI for the GReddy T / AP setup (https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.php?t=142267), my car finally runs normally. My car ran like crap otherwise, I think even worse than what others reported. Maybe my coils are extra weak and couldn't handle the slightest bit of extra richness? Who knows.

MM
Actually one of the couplers had come off and I didn’t realize it! And for some reason it was giving me those rich AFRs #s in boost.
I had it all fixed now and It works flawlessly!
When I go in boost I see AFRs in the lows 12s most of the time (random high 12s and random high 11s)

a bit lean!

Of course I need a few more days to let the ECU settle (v3_3b) STFT and LTFT are at +- 2
For those greddy owners if you have a friend that owns a REVi intake you can easily swap the MAF adapters. The greddy will fit perfectly with the REVi with little modification, just so that you know

no need to swap. racing beat sells the maf housing for $30-50 (I forget the exact amount).

Is this the one that you have to extend? It only has the MAF flange and like 1" each way to put your piping or hoses?

jeff, do you have the APs in stock? If so I would be quite tempted to remove the EMU in Learic's car like, TODAY, and have you overnight an AP to me, because right now I would love to set fire to my EMU.

Also, sorry if this has been covered. I am the greenest AP n00b so forgive me. But how would I connect my LC1 wideband to the AP? Or is that not even necessary?

Thanks,
Ken

Its not necessary because the AP uses the OEM wideband.

Ok, after installing the CAI the car finally runs good! BUT: (keep in mind I still have stock GReddy turbo)

1. With 3_5a the car idles, roughly. Somewhat rich at WOT, 11.2 solid all the way to 9k RPM.

2. With 3_3a the car idles very roughly. Probably the best at WOT, 11.2 then 11.6 from 7.5k to 9k RPM.

3. With 3_0 the car barely idles. Best performance at WOT, 11.2, 11.4 at 6k, 11.8 to 12 from 7.5k to 9k RPM.

I think these base maps for 650/780/290 are not correct for idle, but under load it is ok. Any adjustments can be made to correct the idle?

Thanks.
