nope, i bet you're not even at 220hp. if you want numbers like that and still have a warranty, sale it and buy an EVO.

Not only that Dozer, but the cobb is NOT for series 2 rx8s. He is just SOL if he wants it done cheaply like an s1 can with the cobb.

There was a post by turblown where you could get a turn key turbo series 2, I think it was $9500 but check the thread to be sure. So that is an option if he actually wants to get to his hp goals.

Well I don't want to sell it. I really do love it. Just looking for a little more power. Any other suggestions? I don't know why the 2004 MazdaSpeed rx8's come with 250hp and mine comes with 232. I might be wrong though. Thanks

Don't know where you are getting that idea from?
Do u have a link?

2004 MT was 232hp at the crank not 250

I'm not a betting man but I would but 50 down that says you're not making over 190 at the wheels

You do not have to sell it. Like I said, you take your car to turblown, pay them $9500 , and you have your current car turbo'd. If that is to much $$ for you(it is for me, thats for sure lol) then you are kind of stuck at your current hp. There really is nothing an s2 can do currently, other than going with a full system like adaptronic or whatever turblown uses.

Hmm.. referring to the S1 as a "MazdaSpeed rx8" plus saying how they have 250hp means you are most likely getting your information by the lovely ForzaMotorsport series.

Sorry that game is wrong, very wrong.

On that same note, more with the wrongness of that game...

The mazdaspeed rx8 on that game weighs in at 3100lbs give or take, It has a sunroof and leather interior thats why its got the heavy weight.

The new R3 rx8 they released for the game says that it weighs at 3075lbs....

ASK HOW THAT MAKES SENSE?

it doesnt, theres no way a R3 weighs 25lbs lighter than a car with a sunroof and leather seats. The sunroof and leather seats are easily a 100-200lb gain. Not to mention the wheels are forged on the R3, The seats are lighter than cloth, etc etc.

My best guess why this is: they weighed the car with the driver inside instead of weighing it without the drivers weight.

Anyway... its nice to dream sometimes, like how putting a exhaust on a rx8 in forza gives you +38hp, or +30hp for an intake... reality sucks.

Haha- you busted me. It was Forza 4.. That damn game with its inflated stats. I wish it was that easy to mod the real thing. Oh well, like I said earlier, I love my car. I will just deal with it not being that fast. It's still faster that all of my previous cars. 2010 VW cc sport, 2006 VW GLI, 2002 VW GTI, 1988 Mazda RX 7 convertible.

I have a couple ? about the access port.

-Does It allow for ignition timing or just a/f?
-will I pass emissions or will It throw codes/be rejected for a tune?
-I'm looking to go streetport+turbo and wondering if I can use accessport or If I need to go standalone.

(I get emissions every year here because I failed once )

It's basically a full reprogram of the ECU, as far as I know can change all parameters. It's not a piggyback that intercepts signals and fools the ECU into doing something it doesn't want. The catch is you need the tuner software if you want to make your own map. You can use it for turbo applications, but it's all in the tune. The device is just a way to reflash the ECU.

Wouldn't worry about codes and emissions, but that depends on how it's tuned. If it's tuned pigrich, yeah you won't pass emissions.
