eManage Ultimate Question

Ok so yesterday i hooked up the eManage and started goin through it and making some adjustments. After working on the car for awhile we decided to call it a night and go out driving around and seeing what kind of trouble we could get into.

While my passanger was lookin through the program, (i guess he gets off on the fast and furious laptop in the car look) he noticed that you could have a twostep on the car. Ok... cool. Not why i bought it but its there so why not play a little. Long story short, we set it all up and WHAM, we have a twostep. My question is this. The "launch controll" is supposed to dissable once the vehicle senses speed. However it is not doing so. I dont think it is getting the signal at all.

I can change the # of V.S. pulse to "1" and the two step works when the car is stopped or moving and will not disengage when the throttle is abouve the % value that i set.

If i change the # of V.S. pulse to "0" obviously the two step will not work at all, moving or stopped.

If anyone would have any information on this it would be appreciated. Again not really a bit deal to me. But i found it a neat little feature to play with. Thanks for the help guys.

( FYI: the car is an NA car with a MM rewired harness)

You probably need to connect some sort of a "switching" system to it. When the switch is on, the two-step works. When its off, the two-step is off. Most people use a switch connected to the clutch pedal so that when the clutch is depressed the 2-step is enabled. You could probably use the finger button thingy that is available for the ultimate datalogging to activate/deactivate the 2-step.

I am liking the neutralswith idea... that would be ideal for the way it works and how i would want it to work. So where would i hook the signal from that neutral switch to, or are you goin to make me do a little reasearch myself lol. either way, thanks for the input man.

Are you asking about where to hook the neutral switch to on the ultimate or where to get a power source from?

my understanding is that i would have to connect the neutral switch to the "vehicle speed signal" wirring. However, if i do this, wont it work backwards and get the signal when the clutch is pressed to disarm the two step? (recieve a signal and think that the car is in motion).

Try to determine if you can just plug it into the "Switch" input on the board then activate the 2-step in the software whenever the "switch" is active.

Ok, hooked into the light green and red wire coming from the neutral switch. should only be active when the clutch is pressed in. however, whenever i plug the wire into the "switch" socket on the front of the emange, the starter engauges. I have no clue how this would even happen. Let me knwo your thoughts on this and what i have done wrong. Thanks

Yes and no, the two step worked in the fact that i could set the throttle percent that i wanted it to activate at along with what rpm. I set it at 97% and 5500 rpm i believe. When ever i got to that RPM and did not want the two step active i just backed out of hte throttle a tiny bit and got back into it. No harm no foul. Never got a chance to play wiht it and wire in a signal wire. I uninstalled the eManage to go a differnt route.
