help...ap question..quick and easy
I got the ap from mm a couple days ago and installed it on my 04 MT. I reflashed with the Stage one tune. My question is...is the stage 1 MMs tune? I'm asking because I heard that the stage one can cause engine knock and only provides 6ish pounds of torque as opposed to the 10 that I heard about with his tune. I'm not bitchin about it....I just wanna know if I did the right map or if I don't have the map I'm supposed to. I tried to get ahold of mm but I'm sure he's busy and quite frankly I can understand if he's got bigger fish to fry than answering a noobs question with the ap. I know and I've searched...theres just so much info out there that I don't have time to go through it all and I didn't understand half of what I was reading anyway....so can you help me out guys....please

Since we're on the topic of quick and easy AP questions can i temporarily thread jack and ask if when you receive a AP from MM if it can bump up the idle or is that part of the map that MM creates?

Stage 1 is an NA tune, do not put it on your car if you are turbo'd right now. Read his instructions on the first post carefully. It will guide you with what to do. You need to go to his website and download the base map that is appropriate for your car. It too is locked so you cannot make any changes to it. Also, that map is in NO WAY intended as a performance map. Do not go into boost while driving on it. Wait for the tunes that MM sends back to you before attempting any boosted driving.

no I'm not boosted....won't be for quite a while. I'm trying to set it up for nitrous down the road. I just thought it came with maps already on it. Shows how much I know....sorry guys...I'm learning. So I just follow his directions about how to data log my car..."which seemed easy enough"....send that to him....and it goes from there I take it....

Once you save it, open the AP manager and find MMs tune through the software and load it to the library. Once you have it in the libray, hook the actual Cobb unit to your computer and transfer his tune to your Accessport. Go to your car and flash the MM_4.0v tune to your car. Once the flash is complete, start the car and take it for a spin, nice and easy driving, no WOT. Park car for a couple hours (till coolant is at least under 100 degrees) then take car for another ride, no WOT. Park car again and let sit till coolant is under 100 degrees. Then follow all the steps regaurding datalogging per his first post. He made it pretty idiot proof.

Ok, then if youre not boosted then youre in good shape so far. I want to say he has base maps for NA cars also, although I dont think they are far off from stock. Assuming your car is a 6 speed, click on this and down load the 4.0v zip file.
