Yeah, kinda sux to know that my unit that I just received today is already in need of an update. It's all good though, but I'm gonna have to buy that cable & software, and the sooner the better.

If you were part of the first group buy, you got the May 18 map.
As for the stickers, I have no idea. I build and test the units, and experiment with new ideas. I don't ship, deal, etc. I do see them shipping the boxes sometimes.
Send an e-mail to michelle. Maybe you'll get one if you ask nicely.

Thanks David, I was just starting a reply myself on that. You were refering to guy321's request, I know. Mine has a test date of 5-17 and you said shipped from 5-18 on, so, yeah, that makes sense. Still, by the time I am able to recieve the cable & software, that new map being developed will be out.
About that sticker, "Oh Michelle???"

So you are unhappy when you buy a computer and find out it's obsolete when you get it because a faster/better one just came out?
The map in your unit works just fine. It's the current map we are shipping.
Map improvements are inevitable and desirable. The cable and software is inexpensive. It's a good way to keep up-to-date. You will find the software quite informative on how the car works. You can even run the car with a laptop inside and monitor the engine operation (and record data). Read my latest in Stage explanations.
Best part about the software and cable is they are in stock and ready to ship!
Oh, and don't blame us, Mazda is the one changing the flashs'.

I dont know about you but I am happy as a lark to actually be able to touch the damn thing finally. I just got my M flash last week and still trying to get used to it before I even put the CZ in. As far as that I will be running this way for a period of time and then I will probably buy the cable + also.... who knows...there maybe have been 3 or 4 different maps by then.

So, if I am understand this correctly, we waited for over 4 months, our units shipped last week, and our map is outdated? This can't be correct can it?
What changes are in the new map? Will it add more power?
If I can get more power then I will order the software/cable tomorrow. We really need to know what changes are being made to these maps. Canzoomer should setup an email group of everyone that has his product and email everyone everytime a new map comes out.
We really can't be expected to search through hundreds of posts to find that there is a new map for the 1.1 unit.
Our shipments were delayed numerous times and the reasons given were that the delays were so that we would have the most updated and best tuned maps. Now our maps our out of date? I received my unit yesterday. This is getting very discouraging.

Who said the map is out of date? It's the current map shipping!
You guys need to chill out a little!
New maps will be coming out from time to time. You want us to stop improving the product?

Yet.
Not until late next week. :p
Surely y'all must by now have expected this. I know that to me, it was plain as the nose on my face. We're consumers of cutting-edge technology here, donchya know. (That's why I wasn't first in line for this gismo. Sorry CZ & co, but I think that's understandable, no?) Buy the cable & software. While this gismo is still the shiznet and you still haven't swapped it out with the next cutting-edge gismo that will blow it out of the water for another $500 or so...

OK, maybe I was a little harsh in my post. I apologize. I know you guys are working hard at perfecting the product. It is late and I am tired. :o
I definitely want that cable though so that I can keep up with the new maps.
David...I just PM'd you regarding the cable. I think I am going to order it tomorrow. I asked a few questions in the PM that I hope you can answer before I place the order.
Thanks!

i think i should chime in here...
yes, we waited 4 months...but it had long passed the point of saying "forget about tweaking for 3 extra HP, just send us what you got" so that's what they finally did.
im sure most of us wont even be able to tell a difference between the may18 map and the newer one. and i got a data cable, so if you can pay me for return shipping (it's under $10 anywhere in the country) I'll gladly take care of updating you.

Not a problem guys. I understand completely. Remember, I have a 3rd gen with an Apex'i PFC. The -hardware- was out of date when I got it! That's hard to take when you spend $1000 US ($1500 Can.). It still works just fine though. Much better than stock!

Just wanted to post to let everyone know I installed it! :D
Entire installation took me about 1 hour.
The hardest part of the install for me was getting the 2 cables out of the front and rear of the ECU box. These are the cables you remove prior to opening the ECU box. The instructions said to use small pliers to squeeze the tabs and then pull up through the opening. This worked for the front cable but the rear tab was near impossible to get at with the pliers because the strut bar was in the way. The way I got around it was:
I unbolted the 3 10mm bolts holding the top of the ECU cover
Lifted the ECU cover towards the windshield (the same way the hood opens).
I was then able to get at the tab holding the rear cable onto the box.
From there I just followed the instructions posted by Maurice and everything went fine. No issues.
I was concerned about running too lean because I am at sea level, in FL heat, have an intake, and have an exhaust. However, I have so far had no issues.
I let the car warm up for a good 10 minutes and beeped 1st and 2nd gears about 5 times with no power drop at all. The car pulls hard all the way to redline and my idle is fine. No rough idle at all.
Thanks to Maurice and Dave! I am very happy with the unit. Butt dyno tells me the car is definitely faster. If anyone has any questions on the install please PM me.
P.S. I am on the M flash
Gotta go drive now....

michelle told me they'd be shipped this week...I'll call the general tomorrow and get the real word.
they're all coming in one box, I know that.
I've got my end ready to go, so I'll have a 1 day turnaround once they get here.
