We are just waiting for one part to finish another batch. Looks like next week now. Every day we get more and more ready to go once that part gets in. Exciting!
Wait, I see a light at the end of the tunnel!!! We are almost caught up to orders! Maybe within a month we will finally be ahead of the game.
Why has it taken so long? Well, so many ordered from day one, and it took us a while to figure out how to build them so they would be reliable and wouldn't take forever to assemble.
We've been improving them as well, when waiting for parts. We now have more people working on them too. I can no longer take credit for the construction of most of them. It's a team effort.
There are new and exciting things coming. Those with the current Stage 1 box will find their unit will still work, and we will continue to make improvements. If we can get the new ideas to work it should blow away what has already been done! -Maybe- even a self tuning unit!
Stage 3 is neat, but if you are about to buy a laptop or tablet, hold off for a month or so. We may do something affordable along that line as well.

not completely, I've been outta town for the last week, but I'll get the scoop tomorrow.
As of two weeks ago, 15 or so were getting shipped here right about now. I figured it's better to have them in my hands than in Maurice's warehouse because of what happened last time. But until I get the remainder, I cannot ship any out.

They have a couple of different maps out that look like they will work with most cars that have the "M" flash. But the 8 varies enough from car to car that it's not clear if it will definitely work. Best thing you can do is try it. PM me with your email address and I'll send it to you.

It can be programmed outside of the car, how do you think we do it? 12V power source and the proper plug (which we do have also) and you're set. I'll mention it to Maurice tomorrow morning to see what his thoughts are. Usually when talking to him he mentions the 5-10 things I've overlooked before I open my mouth. I can't imagine that you've gotten as far as all the software and necesarry cables but we won't let you power it up outside your car. It doesn't seem that big of a deal to set up the plug for you but you'll probably need your own 12V power source which I can't imagine is that hard to come by.

Omicron is right, that is pretty much the best way. Thing is it that the connectors cannot be supplied unless the entire set is ordered and ordered in bulk. I can post a picture of the pins which represent power and ground and you could find your own way of connecting/insulating them but it's porbably not a wise idea if you don't know what you're doing. So unless you're willing to shell out maybe $50 to get the 'power plug cable' then i suggest you heed omicron's advice.

Basically, we are waiting for parts to come in but we are almost caught up. Me and Dave churned out a lot of units these past few weeks! The wait used to be horrendous but I'm thinking that it won't be so long anymore (much of the long waiting was associated with group buys and paperwork i think). In any case, it is well worth the wait, so feel free to place an order at any time.

i don't think being on the waiting list has anything to do with paying, i think you get charged when it gets shipped but who knows i may be hearing things. I think people think that if they pay now, they'll get it sooner. We send 'em out as soon as it's possible to it doesn't matter who pays first. Get yourself on the list and you will get one as soon as possible. If you wait then you might have to wait longer.

I ordered a CanScan directly and haven't been charged yet (and haven't gotten it yet), but I was charged up-front in the group buy for the CZ Stage 1.1. I assumed group buys were handled differently.

yeah, the group buys are handled differently...
i didn't have to pay maurice up front, but i required everyone pay me first, and I didnt feel like sitting on $20,000 of liability, so I sent it to Maurice right away

And from what I can tell from various threads and talks with Michelle and Maurice, the delays haven't been Maurice's fault. It's primarily his suppliers who are dropping the ball. It may not help that he's been AWOL around here, leaving David and Larry to take the brunt of the criticism, but in the end, there's not much he can do about it. $.02

A much appreciated $.02, thank you. Don't worry though, things will pick up keeping in mind that cz's are constantly being upgraded and improved and really i don't think at any extra charge (except for maybe the shipping ).
