Looking for Cobb AP tunes

Looking for Cobb AP tunes
Hey everyone, I recently got an accessport and have been exploring its tuning capabilities. I have the AccessPort Manager and AccessTUNER race tuning software, but don't know enough about editing these to feel comfortable about creating a new map from scratch, but I am competent enough to make minor updates as I add to the car.
Currently I am running MM's most updated base tune for my car, but that explicitly states that it isn't supposed to be used with a modified intake, and probably isn't set up for an exhaust upgrade either. The tune works great in my car right now, with a much smoother engine feel, powerband, and idle. It might make a bit more power than the stock map, but not enough that I could feel much of a difference.
BUT, I can't edit MM's tune with my software (i'm guessing he locked the file), so I can't improve on his tune to compensate for my modifications. It works fine, but I feel like I am wasting a lot of the money that I put into the car mods, as I haven't tuned to really utilize them.
So I am looking for a tune optimized for an rx8 with minor modifications that I can use as a starting point to do my own tuning.
Mods to my car: Brand new engine (I have put about 2000 miles on it so far, and was gentle with it for a 700 mile break in), RB rev8 catback exhaust, K&N typhoon intake, OMP adapter to run 2-stroke oil, MazdaSpeed lightened flywheel, exedy street disc clutch, plus handling upgrades (MS strut/tien spring combo, AutoExy tower braces in front and back, AutoExe sway bars, Hawk HPS brake pads and performance brake fluid)
Mods in the works that I will try to retune for myself: RB REN v.2 Race Pipe (high flow cat and resonator), RB exhaust header.
If anyone has a tune for an engine setup similar to mine and is willing to share it with me, it would be greatly appreciated! I'm just looking for a good starting point to modify on my own as I add to the car.

I have a base tune, but only because I still have mods to install (OMP lines, Sohn Adapter, Radiator). When I'm done, however, I will be all over the remote tuning service. Seriously, do yourself a favor and let him do it.
If you're looking for other maps though, I have a valet and no-start map

I was looking for performance maps to maximize the potential of exhaust and intake upgrades. I have one mm tune that I got with the ap, but I am waiting until I can get exhaust headers and cat/midpipe until I consider getting him to tune it. I don't want to pay for a tune now, then again when I upgrade parts

If you got a hold of his base tune, you have his tuning service for 6 months from the time you received it. So no matter what you do, it's up in 6 months.
Again, Your tuning service is up in 6 months! So start now! Even if you do add mods to it, just tell him, and he'll compensate for it. You already paid for it! Use it or lose it!

P.S. For the most part, performance tunes on RX-8's are completely custom. You won't ever find a worthwhile one size fits all solution, because every setup is different, every engine is different, and the condition of all the parts are different for everyone. Yes, it really does make that much of a difference.

I realize that every application requires a personalized tune, but I am sure that there are other rx8 owners out there who have a non MM tune that is a slightly better fit for my car than the map I am currently running. I have the MM tuning service and am making the data logs as I have time. But I can't edit his tunes myself, he locks them. I want to be able to check, edit, and experiment with the maps so I can learn more about tuning.
All I want is a map for a lightly modified car that's even somewhat close to mine, as it is definitely going to be better than the editable maps I have right now. At least to serve as a starting point for me to try creating my own map.
If I can make a good map for my application, I will share it with everyone who wants a starting map like me or for people who just want a slightly improved tune designed for a lightly modified rx8. I don't know how much the diy tuning community here shares, but it seems like a good idea to me.

We get what you are saying, you clearly do not get what Junkman and 9k are saying.
It doesn't work that way.
Each car is unique.
Each car requires a uniquely scaled Maf
Each car requires uniquely dialed in fuel tables
You could probably share ignition maps.
Furthermore the AP is married to the ATR so you can't really load one map from XYZ users car on to your car. You should be able to view the map as long as the ATR version is the same year ... mmmm I think there is a bit of a hack around this.
That's another thing, there are differences in the ECU maps between 2004-2005 and 2006-2008 (might actually be another change in there as well)
Basically what MM is doing is scaling your maf and fine tuning the fuel tables.
You wouldn't believe how rich some of the engines run and so he finds most of the power in tuning the correct AFR.
He might work some magic on the ignition tables and he'll adjust your Throttle duty cycle is you're interested in adjusting the sensitivity of the gas pedal
If you want a good starting point just download or use the Cobb StockStyle or Stage1 map
BTW you should likely ditch the K&N typhoon hot air intake. It does not have a very good reputation. Go with the AEM or back to Stock, maybe the Racing Beat.

However is there an issue between 04-05 ATR and the 06-08?
Because with my 05 ATR, I do have issues loading other open Maps for 06+
I can't recall at the moment the error.
I'll try and get a screen shot later and post it. Would love it if you could help me fix it.
---- EDIT ----
Ok Team I several maps from other vehicles ranging from 04 to 06.
If I try and load any of those maps using my ATR that was downloaded for my 05 I get this error.
So what I've had to do is copy and paste their specific version of ATR (different folder for each) on to my computer. I launch the specific version of ATR I want to use.
Suggestions?
For example if I want to view FazdaRX8's maps (04 IIRC) .. I need to launch a copy of ATR he sent me.

I think that is the error that I get when I try to load MM's tune, I am assuming because it is locked. My problem is that I want a tune like his, but unlocked so I can open and edit them myself

Yes, I realize why he locks his maps, and I don't mind that he protects the work that he does. But MM isn't the only one that knows how to tune these cars, and I bet at least some of the others don't lock their maps. I realize that it won't be a perfect fit, but I don't see how it could be worse than a stock map, and it would give some clues about where to start editing to perfect the tune for my specific application.
TLDR: MM is awesome and I don't mind him locking his maps, which is why I am looking for non-MM maps that are unlocked, and I realize that they won't be perfect.

For some reason the Cobb stage 1 map is horrible for my car. It won't idle, I have to use the throttle to keep it alive. Even after letting it sit and relearn idle it barely does it. Also, above 6k rpm I get a lot of misfires and power totally cuts out. Even the stock map works better than the Cobb stage 1

The only modified item that it appears you currently have installed that will have a large impact on the tune is the K&N Typhoon Intake.
The rest of it doesn't impact the tune or very little.
Load the Cobb Stock Style Map.
Get a few drive cycles in and then get an idle log.
Adjust idle area in Maf.
Drive cycles
Cruise logs in OL
Adjust Cruise area.
Drive cycles
WOT logs in 2nd and 3rd
Adjust fuel tables
Rinse repeat.

Hi everyone, I just recently purchased a access port, came with everything I need for it to work, the problem is, is that my 8 is an 07 AT and there are no maps on the cobb cd for an AT or as far as I know, so does ANYONE here have or know where to find 04-08 AT-fed maps?!?!?!, apparently I am getting into this at the wrong time cause cobb no longer offers rx8 maps :/, I would use MM calibration service but hes asking an arm and leg just for a custom tune, please please can anyone help

I read this in a stage 1 map.
YOU MUST USE THE FACTORY INTAKE SYSTEM ONLY. NO OTHER AFTERMARKET
INTAKES ARE CERTIFIED COMPATIBLE WITH THIS CALIBRATION. THE INSTALLATION OF ANY OTHER HARDWARE SUCH AS HEADERS OR CATLESS EXHAUST MAY ALLOW THE VEHICLE TO RUN LEANER THAN DESIRED, WHICH CAN CAUSE ENGINE DAMAGE.
thoughts on the catless?
read that here: http://www.accessecu.com/accessport/...1%20MTv100.pdf
got to there from here: cobb . mazda RX-8 accessport . map listing

Hoping someone can shed some light. I just received my first cobb, and downloaded the online cobb maps in the link above. Whenever I try to load any of the maps, I get this error.
In the cobb that I purchased, there were other custom maps already on the cobb (couple of them have been derived from the cobb maps) and I can't open any of those ones either.
