Other than that, always make sure to do a "read from ECU" first before flashing just to make sure the connection is good.

Yea the app works great. I haven't really had any issues with it. Only random crashes when i left it running in the background when the laptop went on standby (it phones home to validate the install key so thats why).

Mine seems to crash a lot . Especially if you are in logging mode and then turn the ignition off . If I don't shut down the program straight away it will lock the lap top . Do you get that ?

Ah yea I get that too. Like a dialog box pops up with an "address violation" or something of that nature.
Yea i only do the 'read from ecu' just so i know my connection is good. For sure its an 'extra' step but makes me feel all warm inside to know that it read it fine before i attempted a flash lolol

I'm a little stumped if someone could give me a little bit of info. I have the P0420 code after installing a midpipe. I bought mazdaedit to kill the code and I just want to be sure I'm doing this right. I have 3 tables for DTC.
DTC List Enabled #1
DTC List Enabled #2
DTC List Opt?
I opened the {DTC List Opt?} table and went to the code 0420 and changed the value to 00 and flashed it. So far today I've not gotten a check engine light. I saw somewhere else on this forum buried somewhere someone removed them from both tables. Just want to be sure I'm changing the right things here. A little insight would be appreciated.
Thanks!

The first two are all you really need. I believe oltmann mentioned a few pages back what the third table was for. It had something to do with test frequency or something.

Only issues I have had are with the logging as discussed a few posts above .
The SD card thing is giving me some grief ATM as swapping between SD card and the usb cable for tuning does not seem to work well.

In a nutshell ME vs Cobb :
Pros of ME Pro :
Better logging software
Access to ALL the maps (although there really aren't any more that you would need anyway)
Can still do remote tuning if other person buys the personal edition (cheaper than Cobb)
The HUGE advantage :Can tune any RX8 plus pretty much any modern Mazda !
Cons
Pro version is dearer (but personal version is cheaper)
Can't have it as a full time gauge
Need a laptop
Takes a bit of messing around to get set up
Can only have it on one computer so if that dies ??????
From my perspective I see it as being superior to the Cobb

Since you were non-USDM and never had access to using a Cobb system extensively I'm not sure how you came up with your final assessment either

Ok ... it's cheaper doing remote tuning with the Cobb if you DON'T already have a laptop . Better ?
For the record ... I have had physical cobb unit in my possession and done numerous tunes using the Cobb system.

yes you can. I tuned for many people using the free software. The only difference is that the PRO licensing version allows you to lock the tune from being modified or accessed by anyone else.

I don't think you are understanding me ....
With the ME pro , if someone rocks up to you with any Madza .... you can tune, log, read codes etc there and then without anyone needing to purchase anything else !
Surely you can see why this is a huge advantage ?
ME has been the ONLY product I've ever bought for the 8 that has actually put money back in MY pocket !
