The STFT/LTFT regime does a good job of adjusting for minor discrepencies and delivering consistent results until something major is wrong . I believe that asking people to strive for perfection in this way is just leading them into doing a whole lot of tail chasing .

Quick question(s) about the closed loop max load A, B, and C maps. How does the computer decide which map determines the jump from closed to open loop? Is it the first of the maps to reach the transition point, or is it the last of the maps (even though map A and B are identical)? Is there some other computation that I'm not aware of that dictates when the change happens?

I'm new to this and I have the cash to spend a little . My question is, a guy at work has a tactrix open port cable and adapters. Can I use his and buy the software from epifan? The cables are not vin locked right ... Just the software, correct ? I don't want to make it where he can't use it again after I use it on my car .

Thanks for the help. I just bought the openport. And I'll buy the software when the part arrives. Will there be any reading material ? I want to get familiar with it before I jumped in. Like. When I start does it adjust factory maps or do I have to make them from scratch.?

Just ordered the software, the tactrix 2.0 cable and the laptop. Now I need to read all 34 pages to collect knowledge.
But for starters, its a 2007 automatic. Would like to raise rpm to around 8,700 would. And cooler fan options. Wish me luck in a week when it all arrives.

And from my research I gathers that the torque converter is what fails at 9,000 rpms so I will lile to keep it lower then that. Also installing a six speed manual differentle should help with lowend powrr as well.
Edit, im very sorry fir threadjacking. Its jusy this was an option I found affordable I will make my own thread so you guys could throw pointers.
