That same owner then swapped a used engine from the wreckers in and made the highest hp ive seen out of a stock rx8 engine with a proper tune at 193 rwhp sae dynojet. He had all the boltons, racing beat intake, header, full 3" single exit exhaust, and bhr ignition.

I want to see what part of the map is claimed to be copied since you are making these claims.

That I know of Jeff does not make any software that would write "headers", sounds like he is still scamming.
If you mean "someone has the same tables" for "setting X" from "his tune"; then it is very possible that some settings between dyno tunes on similar cars would be similar, and does not mean it was copied, only that Jeff can measure and tune as well as someone else using a dyno.
Do you mean the MAZDA copyrighted bits that allow uploads to the MAZDA ECU?
.... then you should obviously know Jeff does not own Mazda's software.
And we wonder why Cobb left the RX8 market with these type of undocumented copyright claims, by RX8 tuners.

FWIW, I posted this on his FB wall a couple months back:

Each map file contains a user area header that you can put whatever you want in. Jeff explained it was text in this area of the dump that pointed it back to one of his own maps.

Other tuning packages do not just "import" a different tuning software's files, like it's a word doc...
If Jeff's tune data was copied, it would have had to have been by hand by copying tables, which doesn't copy the ATR "description" that Jeff now says was copied.
When Jeff originally made the claims he said he owned the copyright on Mazda's encryption bit string that allows uploads to the ECU.
I believe his claims were what drove Cobb away from the RX8.

For hardware, you need a Tactrix OpenPort 2.0, as mentioned here: epifanSoftware | mazdaEdit
Plus a laptop, or a pc and very long usb lead :-)
