Need a Rx8 w/ access port in DFW area
Hey Guys,
This is Steven Kan from Gotham Racing. As some of you may know, I'm getting the pro dealer license for accessport for Subaru, Rx8 and 350Z/G35 (when available). The program/software should be here within the next week. I'm looking for someone in DFW area who is currently running the accessport so that I can create a basemap for the car. If you do not have an accessport, I can sell you one.
If you are interested, I'm offering a one time free tuning (including dyno tuning) if you can come to us and allow me to create a good map for the vehicle. I may need your car for a few days to create a few maps based on fuel octane level and driveablility.
Additionally, Once I established the map, we will offer the map for all access port purchase from us.
Let me know if there is anyone interested in this? You can contact me via the following:
Steve@gothamracing.com
PM me (pluto)
or phone (817) 788-8726
thanks again.
Steven Kan

Just had the opportunity to pro tune Jonathan's Rx8 (j8635621) today. We spent approximately 4 hrs today playing around with different settings and learning the Pro tuner software. We also estabilshed some baseline pull between each maps that was on his accessport. All we did was load the map and made dyno pulls to compare the difference between each map. The only mod with the car was the intake and exhaust. Jonathan can probably provide the info on the brand of his mods. Below are the dyno results. Please note that all dyno results were done in a mustang dyno (approx 5-8% lower than the dynojet numbers).
MM stage 1 map (169rwhp, 125rwtq)
Stock map (171rwhp, 124rwtq)
Cobb stage 1 Map (171rwhp, 124rwtq)
Gotham stage 1 map (184rwhp, 124rwtq)
The tune was done after spending 3 hrs of playing with different areas of the map and to also learning the software. I'm sure that I can do this much faster as I get more familiar with it.
Again, I like to thank Janathan for lending me his car so that I can learn the software.
Regards,
Steve Kan

interesting but you can not compare MM stage 1 map to Gotham stage 1
You would need to compare it to a stage2 or 3 map from MM
Stage 1 map is used as a base line to figure out what you want to do.
Also there are several iterations of each stage

either way its still good numbers for intake and exhaust only.

WTF is your problem? Do you have any idea who he is? It was an honest suggestion that often goes overlooked here, particularly given the age of the thread. Maybe you should work on removing your own stick first, then work on acquiring some common sense skills rather than acting out in public with childish physical threats for all the wrong reasons ...
just the same, you can reach him here assuming you ever really cared to know

Yes i know who steve kan is, I've actually had the pleasure of meeting him serveral years back when he was in orlando for a tuning session.. I was just curious if he was still tuning rx-8s. i do not need tuning services. just thought it was odd he got into it 3 years ago and there hasn't be anything recent with his name on it. i would feel like i was bugging him for something small and trivial, i know hes a busy guy, just like jeff..
was all this EXTRA explanation necassary?

I don't know WTF my problem is, lol
I'm sure he wouldn't consider it a waste of time for you to let people know there are alternatives. He is in fact a licensed Cobb Protuner rep and he does tune RX-8. His shop is now on the north side of Dallas in Lewisville, TX.
