Recommendations (ECU Tuning)

I am looking to remap my ecu on my 04 rx8, a lot of people are recommending the Cobb access port. However I also was told that I can not tune the car from my laptop when it is on a dyno. I have a dyno at work and looking to start up tuning for rx8s after I get some solid numbers down. Any recommendations on software or kits other than the Cobb?

cobb is your cheapest option. you will need to request their software tho. tuning an 8 isnt like tuning other cars. adaptronics is an option but expensive

The stock ECU can't be re-flashed live I believe, which means that the limitation is on the ECU, not the reflashing method.

That being said, you can still dyno-tune with re-flashing methods. You do a pull or get a load specific data log, then roll to a stop, make adjustments, send the flash to the ECU, repeat as needed until the tune is perfect.

MazdaEdit is cheaper than the AP I believe.

Thanks guys, for the help. I have worked with Cobb before and know the guys there, so that is a very big possibility at this moment. I also took a look at Mazdaedit, which is another option as well. I really want to learn as much as I can, that way I can help all the rx8s in my area that have to drive 5-6 hours to get a tune.
