Rotarys Oil
#26
I have 38 yrs and over a million rotary miles under my belt, on the track and on the street. Hey guys and gals, everyone should know you don't use ANY synthetic oil in your Rotary engine, Synthetic oil will not mix with the gas inside your engine and combust . Good ole Dino oil injected to lube the seals will mix , and is combustible and will be burned and exit via your exhaust. If you use synthetic oil for long, get ready for an engine repair. Use the 5W-20 for most climates. You can use a 10W-20 for hotter climates or racing.
Back in the ole days we did use Amsoil synthetic oil for our Race RX7s, but we rebuilt the engines at the end of the race season anyway. Now you have good premix from people like Pettit racing, to help the engines stay lubed and last. And the premix will combine with your gas and properly combust.

I mean I've bean a trolling to my hearts content for several weeks, and I got my car hooked up from all the info that was given up 2 years ago, and those guys got bored and left.
We just can't help anyone anymore with silly ideas like this nonsense!

I couldnt find any threads relating to this topic, but if there is an existing one i apologize.
Anywho, my question regards the proper oil to use with a rotary engine, i know synthetic is a very thin oil and can cause older engines to leak like crazy.
So im curious if this would cause a problem with the rotary, apex seal leaks, or general leaks.
Any imput, experience, or street smarts would be much appreciated.

If you want something sticky use something with tallow, yes animal fat is in some lubricants for like a steam engine. Anyone remember those?

Another oil thread?!?
Beautiful pictures BTW csl.
Ok here is my .02$
When I asked others with on their experience on Royal Purple's synthetic, Charles from BHR said that every rotary he disassembled where royal purple was used, there was little to no wear on the rotar housings. Also we know that the guys from BHR love their Eneos synthetic. Personally, BHR is well respected and I would follow any advice from those guys.
