rumors that need justified and a few questions

this past week or so ive been searching through new & old threads and came across some posts' that either weren't answered, or argued to the grave about, and i just need to know the answers to a few of them so i know im not messing anything up for when i work on my car and get it tuned.

i have an 04' 6MT GT.

i recently purchased a Cobb AP with MazdaManiac's Calibration Service and these questions/rumors go hand in hand with the function of the AP.

first question, does the Cobb get rid of VFAD entirely? or do i still have to cap the nipple behind the TB to actually make it stop working?

another post i came across was that you cant use an aftermarket underdrive pulley with a Cobb tune, is this true? (i have the AP pulley installed).

and this controversy was brought to my attention as well, does the K&N Typhoon VII really cause a loss in HP because of hot engine bay temps? if it is in-fact true, i was going to get a thin silicone tube that tapers at one end and connect it the the intake and run it through the stock intake duct (see attatched photo) and then either connect that tapered end to the RB-duct or a custom-made one (came across some DYI's)

and i know this doesn't pertain to this sub-forum category and ive searched all through here but is there absolutely anywhere that i can purchase an A/C delete and air pump delete kit for my 8? a few on here have said you can only get it from MazdaMotorsports if you compete in auto events after a certain amount of time. i only drive my car on the track and its in storage more than 75% of the year so i really dont need A/C, air pump is debatable but i'd prefer less weight anyways.

Yes. it is true sucking in hot engine bay air will result in high IATs(intake air temps) and therefore result in lower efficiency and lower Torque

this is inarguable. and therefore the only ? i choose to answer. C=

It is essential to cap off the nipple for the VFAD.

Essential.

You can set the rpm at which the VFAD opens with a Cobb. I think setting it to zero would have a similar effect to disconnecting the lines.

Warm intake air can actually improve efficiency on throttled engines in some cases.

Theoretically a lot of things are possible....don't get something like this started
