rx8 stop start procedure guide ...?

from reading the comments i assume a warm up of about a minute instead should be fine..... but.... is the stop procedure beneficial on the 04 rx8? And also is it good to start the car with the key hafway in for all the electronics to kick in then start the car??

If your ignition is healthy and the ECU firmware up to date, you don't really need to do either. To be extra safe, don't turn the car on unless you're sure you'll have time for it to warm up a little before your turn it off. Especially the stopping procedure with 15 seconds at 3k... there's no point. If you've driven any distance at all, everything is already oiled. And if everything is healthy and the car was warmed up before shutdown, flooding won't be a problem.

But the key to everything is healthy ignition, replace the spark plugs/leads/coils if they're getting old (there are no symptoms, just go by their age).

it can help catch oil that would normally go through the intake on cars that were either overfilled or go their oil temps hot enough that oil vapors in the filler neck carried small amounts of liquid in them. Its just added insurance to make sure you dont start getting oil in your intake system.
