Should we even flash now?

I've been reading the threads in regards to the issues Maurice was encountering for the L FLASH and tuning it with his ECU MOD.

Now my question being, I have NOT had my ECU flashed. I simply have not had the time. If I plan on buying the ECU mod...is it better WITH or WITHOUT the newer flashes?

I am also curious to hear Maurice's answer on this question. I have an older flash also and do not plan on getting flashed to L or M.
I am going to receive my stage 1 in the next couple of weeks. I currently have intake & exhaust which are both leaning the fuel mixture. If I then add stage 1, the fuel mixture will be leaned even more. The L & M flashes also dramatically lean the fuel mixture. I would be very concerned about leaning the mixture too much by getting flashed to L or M with my current setup but I would really like to hear what Maurice has to say on this.

Oh, I am also at sea level in S. Fla..... VERY LEAN

Be aware Maurice's car has stock intake, high flow cat, resonator, and Greddy cat back. He runs the units with no problem when he tests them.

The current units are optimised for the "L" flash. The "M" flash uses the same A/F maps, I hear. It just added some bug fixes and flooding protection. The units will work with any of the current flashes out there.

Dave....do you suggest I get flashed then or stay where I am at?

I have a few other questions I hope you don't mind answering...

If I were to purchase the $75 cable kit will I be able to download the original stage 1 map that was optimized for the older flash versions?

Are the gains the same with the L flash as opposed to the older flashes?
Will I not notice the difference in power using the old flash now that stage 1 has been optimized for the L flash?

I know I am throwing a lot of questions out there but I know other people have the same questions and I just want to make sure I get the most gains possible out of stage 1.

Thanks for your time,
Sean
