Stage 1.1 not impressive
Maybe I did something wrong during the install but I feel I just wasted 4 months and 520 bucks
.
Minimal gain at the top end. 0 torque gain noticable.

20 hp wasnt going to get you there anyway. what did you think it was going to do? I think you were delusional about what this product was. I definitely notice power throughout the rpm band but i was never expecting it to blow me away. i tihnk your expectations were way over the top.....

Its obvious you havent read any of the 100's of posts about the stage 1 that are on this site. Your K&n got you nothing but noise. The catback a few hp's maybe. 30hp still wouldnt get you up to the z and g35 based on the dyno's, etc that the 8 has shown. And for the 1millionth time on this site, the 8 is not a drag car. never will be without FI. go back to the drawing board.

Some will disagree but stock I ran with a friends G35 from 2nd up till 4th. And pulled slightly when we shifted to 3rd? Maybe he is a terrible driver? I don't know, but with the stage one it would be much different. I did runs with Maurice here in town, and yes at times it is hard to tell the difference as the power is sooo smooth. But when we did runs ( my stage one off, and his on), he pulled easily on me.

As i said, stage 1.1 is noticeable. Power increase all the way to the beep. From a 2nd gear start i dont doubt the 8 could hang. But from a dead stop, the 8 doesnt have it to get off the line quick enough. Im just saying the 8 isnt a drag car and never will be without FI. On an autox course though, thats a whole different story.

In terms of feel, the RX8 is one of the most deceiving cars I have ever owned. The power delivery is so smooth it is truly hard to tell how quickly it is going. This is a problem stock and more so with any power mods which would smooth out the power band which is what the CZ1 does.
If you are looking for feel a Z is definitely for you. They 'feel' fast. I would recommend a Mustang Cobra or a used Z06 though if you are looking for a lot more than feel and for real speed.

Easy folks. If the guy wants to return it, that's his option.
Deeznutz, lighten up there a bit bud. One thing to consider too, before you return the unit: the '8 is a learning ECU... it takes time for it to adapt to the CZ unit.

Name calling is a great way to make new friends.
Nutz, if you were to read thru the older threads, and there are many, you would find lots of info on what to really expect. There is a good video showing the RPM increase with and without. The gains are there but no one has said it is a huge improvement. Now with the earlier ECU flashes, it did give more than with the current one.
Also I have seen many posts with people having some problems using after market intakes, they apparently can cause mis information to the MAF. How is yours running?

Please no more bashing.
Deez i am sorry to hear you are not satisfied with what you paid for. It is however been proven numerous times and dyno'd that there is a increase in performance. However i can not determine what you were hoping for or what a 20hp increase should feel like for you. There are also so many factors wich can effect an optimal performance gain from car to car that it is impossible to gaurantee
satisfaction in everyone.
We are always working on making better maps to suit people's needs if you would like to tell me what you were excpecting maybe we could use you input. Please e mail me or maurice and we would be more then happy to get back to you.
I can tell you this though you offer to sell that thing, it will be gone by the end of the week. So please be patient.

Another thing to keep in mind is that adding components does not result in a linear addition of horsepower. Just because the exhaust manufacturer claims 10 HP gain and the intake manufacture claims 8 HP gain, putting them both on does not mean you've added 18 HP to your car.

Omicron, that's what I was thinking. Isn't this a good time to clear the PCM non-volitile RAM (the ole "20 brake taps within 8 seconds after turning the ignition switch to the ON position" routine)?
That KN intake might need to come out for confirmation purposes too. Put it back to stock intake for a while.
I would do both of the above together. Then with stage 1 on, let the PCM learn from scratch.
My CZ stage 1 is going in tonight. I got my M flash Monday, so it's ready. Finally got the free time after work tonight to do it at a non-frantic pace, so, now I am ready too. :D
(You DO have the M flash, right?)

Hey Nutz,
You do have the M flash? If you do the intake may be messing with ya. ALl I know when I had the L flash the 1.1 was not as strong as with the M. Just a thought. Waiting 4 mos for something is hard and I'm sorry you are disappointed but man these things do what they claim to do. Also don't worry you can beat a Z or a 35 with just a few mods.

My car, with K flash and CZ1, actually lost power. About 5hp or so. Of course the placebo effect had me thinking - "It's a little faster, but not much".
In reality it had less power from top to bottom measured on a dynojet. I am having the car flashed tomorrow and updateing the CZ1. Dyno on Friday. We will see the results.

I don't mean to be an ***; but I would like to see these dyno's proving this performance with the M flash.
I have been reading up and down these forums every since I got my 8 (about 1 month) and so far I haven't seen ANYTHING concrete.
Let me just tack on to that...if I WERE to see something concrete, I would be purchasing my CZ 1.1 within 1 month.

damn, what's up with the first batch? You got your CZ units but you're still on K flash? I hope there's a first batch member with M flash out there so we could hear their story too.
