It is listed in the tune info for full transparency.

Hardly any improvement at all over your previous tune (not doubting your tuning skills, at all.) This just goes to show how bolt ons essentially do absolutely nothing to this car. Not that we weren't aware of that already, lol. Forced Induction is looking more and more enticing, that's for sure.
The stock catalytic converter is HUGE and flows quite well. The stock air cleaner filter is the same one used on a V10 Viper. These are expensive components.
The next step for our shop car is the header. After that, turbo.

The stock setup on the RX-8 is highly optimized from the factory. The RX-8 was the pride of the fleet. Mazda did everything they could at a reasonable cost to get power and fuel efficiency out of it. The insane number of calibrations are an indication of how much effort they put into optimization.

What turbo kit were you planning on running? I was planning on Greddy myself.

Just purchased the Lite version with OBDlink SX for my 04 and the process was SO easy. Expected it to take 30-40min based on experience with flash tunes on other cars but it was 10 minutes MAX. Used the newest version which just came out a couple days ago. No issues whatsoever, big props to Versa Tune. Took the car for a quick spin mainly just to verify everything still works. I used the "91US/95EU Octane tune for 6 port RX-8 with Racing Beat REVi intake and TurboXS catless exhaust".
Quick question - I do have the full TurboXS catless exhaust (with header) and AEM intake. Is this the map I should be using?

What this man said, my car is randomly shutting down since i did the flash with version 1.05..
I uninstalled VersaTune and will drive a while with stock ecm again to confirm that this is the problem.
Update: VersaTune may not be the issue. It may be as simple as loosing power to the ignition system due to a lose ground. I will keep driving the 8 as much as possible to keep testing.

There may be a bug with the launch control code that causes random resets. We are looking into it.

I need people who are experiencing the ECU reset issue to report their calibration IDs. So far I have one person who has provided that. We are working on the issue, but need more data as to which calibrations have the issue.
Your help is greatly appreciated!

Auto-blip system
Hi Steve,
A little over a year ago, when I bought Versatune, I had asked your support department about if, similar to how you have implemented the launch control, it would be possible to implement a module to facilitate the heel and toe maneuver (double clutch) by making reductions in the braking.
You had told me that already had in mind an "auto blip" system that would blip the throttle when downshifting, but that at that time you had other tasks of higher priority in the queue and you could not face that job, but that in the future you would see If it could be done.
Have you been able to advance anything in that idea?
I know that the Rx8 does not facilitate the task, as it does not include sensors to determine which gear has been engaged, but I do not think it would be necessary to carry out a complete system, I think it would be enough with a help when the gear is slowed down and slowed down ( when the gear is reduced to speed up the throttle foot is free and the double clutch can be performed without problems.
With this approach it would be enough to make the "auto blip" going up to 3000 or 4000 rpm, when:

- We are stepping on the brake pedal
- The change is in neutral
- We have released the clutch
- The speed is greater than 20 or 30 km / h (to avoid acting in parking maneuvers or low speed)

Maybe I am over-optimistic, but I think this new system would not be more complicated than those others and I also think it would be much more useful in normal car use (I mean sports or even racing).
I guess and understand that at this time you have other priorities and other things in mind.
Oh, by the way, I have a 4-port engine, are you going to get a tune adjusted for these engines? Here in Europe, many 4-port cars with manual transmission have been sold and we feel a bit abandoned.

Manuel
