I have noticed these lights on BMW's and I know it's 12,000K, is anyone running these HID's on their car?

How do you like them?

also a lot less light output than 4300 or 6000. 6000 is the max output i would recommend its a nice white tint with a hint of blue

If I remember, are the stock HID's that we have 3000K? And if so are there any issues using the 6000K Bulbs or does that burn out or melt anything?

Whats the maximum we can go without melting anything like wires etc?

stock is 4300. 3000 is yellow, which is just plain illegal for headlights. i've never heard of any issues burning wires running diff color hids? maybe someone else can comment

if you want a nice headlight search rotary rasp who did a projector retrofit and kept the 4300 temp hid's, since he used a nicer projector he got a real nice cutoff that made the lights look really blue (like bmw etc high end headlights) from certain angles. probably more info than you wanted to hear but this is the best way to do it imo if you want attention grabbing lights

BMW lights are also generally blue when cold only. They look almost like ours when the gas heats. Even ours soften a bit.

Nah I appreciate all the info for sure. I was going to run 3000K HID for the foglights however with a HID kid that I was talking to someone else about here on. My opinion I think they look really awesome,

What bulbs are you guys running in the parking lights? Besides stock?

BMW's don't come stock with 12,000k, no car does.

Don't go with 12k HIDS.

I used to run them but they're so blue I could hardly see at night.

Also thanks, I've been reading a lot so I won't go 12. I also think I'm staying away from autolumination , is vleds the best place to go for all my light needs?

also, where is a good place to get a HID foglight kit, quality and price

I would go with V-Leds. Those "Philips HID Kits" off eBay are Chinese Knock-offs, there's a couple of threads about it floating on the internet.

I believe 6000k will be the brightest + look the best.

I have 8000k, I ordered 6000k but Vled sent me the wrong ones... I would suggest going for the 6k... its too blue for my taste..

The lower the kelvin temp the brighter the light ouput, 3000k is going to be the brightest bulb you can get with the most visible light output, the higher you go the dimmer the light output gets. If you were to put in 6000k you are losing light over the stock 4300k (bmw, audi, mazda, lexus, etc all use 4300k stock). 4300k is the lowest (brightest output) that is DOT legal for headlamps, thats why manufacturers use 4300k. I have 3 sets of bulbs at home (4300k, 6000k, and 8000k). When I run the 8000k it looks purple/white/blue. The street looks purple from inside the car. The issue is that the output id very dim. I would have to raise the level of the beams to make sense of it and that makes them unbearable to oncoming traffic.

So, all that said, I would stick to 4300k but if you are into the looks of different temps then go up. I would not recommend over 6000k.

How come the BMW's look so purple then or even the Range Rovers? Stock.. but either way I stayed with the stock setup on mine
