Rotor shape with an apex pointing UP or DOWN? I guess you'll need to have two versions of the taillight for this

Tell me more about this 36led taillight stuff. I did a search on cayn25 and I got squat? Is there some DIY or something? Thanks.

iono, it just doesn't seem to look as great on our cars as on other cars. i think it would be alright with smoked taillights though.

Converting the regular taillight to the LED's is a lot easier than people think because of how the Rx-8 taillight is set up. I first cut out the dome section of the taillight in the rear with an air saw and grinded down the edges of the cut so I could fit the LED assembly that I bought from a retailer. Peterson Manufacturing made the LED assembly so it was just about fitting it in and sealing it into the taillight housing. Any water proof sealant would do. That was basically it for fitting it in

I'm really sorry I didn't make a DIY thread but one guy did it before me and 6 months ago when I did do it, no one seemed to be interested.

^^^Well, if you ever decide to embark on a DIY and need a set of lamps, I have an extra set to donate for the sake of the rx8 community. Just as long as you send it right back when it's finished. ;-)
