2 Door mod???
I know this is probably going to be one of the stupidest threads on this site so far but oh well here goes anyway
anyone ever seen or tried to modify the car to make it stricktly two door car and eliminate the back to to make the body appaearence seem more seemless, i guess perhaps welding it shut and filling seems along the exterior of body to make a strict two door apparence?
just thought itd be an interesting mod / look for the car.

It should be OK if the car is dedicated to track use. It would stiffen the chassis even more.
The Mazdaspeed GT RX8 dosen't use the street car chassis as a starting point.

Cetainly has inspired me to look into underbody bracing!
The doors themselves already serve as the B pillar for the vehicle. I don't know how much more rigid you could make the car with this kind of work.

MazdaManiac and I have noticed some interesting changes in our door gaps from the various racing and mountain runs we've done. MazdaManiac's is much more pronounced than mine is but you can clearly see where the chassis has flexed just a bit from the turns.

I dont think he's talking about actually removing the door and shortening the body.
Just filling in the seems and making it a smooth body line.
Like this?

Dude, that car looks mean as hell, is that real or just photoshopped? I dont think "filling in" The seams on the back door will do anything positive at all, unless you just like the way it looks, it would only ADD weight to the car, unless you took out the paneling and some of the brace inside the door, and removed the back seats. I dont know, just my thoughs: No reason to do that.
