shakeyourbrakes - Interesting, Ive done quite a few sets on my past cars and never had that problem. It sounds to me like overspray. I have kept my lenses wrapped in syran wrap wince I got them apart to prevent any dust or paint from getting on the backside of the lens. I appreciate the heads up but I really have no idea what happened with yours, really weird.
What kind/ brand paint did you use?

Definitely could have been the paint, I used a high temp engine enamel, maybe the drying time was a little more on it..

Its the offgassing from the paint has nothing to do with overspray. The cure time on the bottle, at least double that. Most high temp enamels have a 24hr green state. I would let it set out for at least two days... Especially since you go and bake the headlight shut, it will also offgas...

On the back of the paint can there should be clear disclaimer about the finish and green states. for instance, dry to the touch in 30mins, sandable in 2hrs, completely dry in 12,24 whatever hours, follow the direction on the can you should be fine...

Unless I missed it bro, did you change your projector lens while you were in there? I changed mine a couple months ago and man I would NEVER go back. The output is just night and day difference and really is clear. If I were you I'd do the same as well, just to get it out of the way since you have it open, but you did say you put it back together already..

Very very good DIY. That is an excellent video. Bravo!
For a while now I've been thinking of repainting my rims "Stock Silver" to match the stock silver details in the lights. Now that I've seen your video, I now have the option of carrying the gold color, replacing the silver details around the car... which is mostly in the headlights and tail lights. Never thought this was possible.
You have given me this possibility.
Thank you again.
