I don't like the 'nostrils'

Perhaps on your car they'd serve a purpose but they are really hideous.. otherwise, even though I'm not a fan of kits, it looks not bad.

Nose nostrils serve a purpuse in my car air for the turbo, and in a stock car if you look at it the air will go straight to the air box, with a kit we are goin to make. I dont like body kits either , but i have to bring air in someway. The side skirt we are working on it i'll post more pic later on today, I'm not to go with photoshop so i have a guy doing it for me.

Remember the more air you bring in, to the air box the more power you will make

I like the nostrils... adds a nice little flair to it. Though it is lacking something in the body (side skirts and rear valence)

Man a perfectly good Mazdaspeed front kit ruined. Not a fan of Nostrils, what about make the nostrils join into one slit? (like a "uni-nose") I'm not sure if I am making my self clear.

the nostrils have to go... make it look aggresive, kind of like veilside.
I was just wondering, you should take out the air breath from the rx-7 and put in the side of the back tire. kind of like the nsx, and supra.

*sigh* it's never that simple, and there are better ways to do that than just put as many big-*** holes in the front of the car as possible; remember how you laughed at Homer when he put "speed-holes" in his car with a pick-axe??

anyways, the enormous ducts you have there would more than easily provide the car with enough air for anything: is your I/C really going to be that big?? 'cause the most efficient way to route air into a radiating unit is to slightly diffuse it, using proper sealed ducting. so, if you have an I/C unit with 3.5sqft of area, you only need a duct with 3sqft of area (using ducts to "stretch" that air), giving benefits on the cooling side (in a few ways), as well as saving you drag.

after that, ducting to a sealed airbox for your big-*** filters (on an engine like this, that's an entirely necessary thing), just pull air up from infront of one of those very oversized (unnecessarily so) oil cooler ducts (which should also encorporate the velocity reducing ducting).
you really really don't need those "nostrils", or holes that big.

Ok then lets do this, you guys design the car. And we will vote the nicest and most effective one. the person that makes the nicest one, we will name the body kit after you and display your name as the designer in the sema show. So let me see what you guys come up with. Remember i need air goin to the intercooler and the Turbo

cool. gimme specs on the size of the I/C, and are you looking for a high-DF setup, a low drag setup, or just an all-style setup??

... i'll leave wheels to you, but i'll sketch something up today...

Ooo, a single rotary shaped inlet. That's kinda cool.

What I like about the kit are the larger front vents. Much more muscular looking. While I like the look of the stock vehicle very much, the vents look a little 'pinched' in their design. But like others, I'm not crazy about the 'nostrils'. Lots of folks already poke at it's "angry guppy" appearance, adding nostrils kinds of exaggerates it.

hehe, well i can also run the Nistrous Purge kit through the nostrils. Air brush a fire breathing dragon, so when i purge, it looks like the dragon flames,,,hehe p.s. I want something that looks good, and brings air to the intercooler and the turbo. I really like the new drawing with the single rotary inlet

How about having those Rotor shape holes right on the hood ? Would that serve your purpose.

Maybe the gap could be a lil bit bigger but not much if you want to keep a sleak look.

you know I was thinking the same thing because of the horizontal grates in the grill. Which are a nice touch by the way. Though I suppose it looks more like someone turned a Vanquish grill upside down, since the extra vent is underneath the main grill.
