Advice: RE Amemiya Front, then what?
Hi all, I've been wanting a body kit that makes my silver 8 look long, lean and thin but most body kits make the car look wide, low and fat. Now I need help.
I think I've finally settled on the RE Amemiya front (with fogs), but with the bottom lip painted black (so that the lines of the front still look lean and the black looks like a diffuser, sort of). I haven't found any sideskirts I like.
1) Do you recommend any lean-looking sideskirts that line up with the RE kit?
2) If I paint the lower lip on the front black, will I even need sideskirts to match the paint line on the car? I don't want the car to look slammed low on the front and then high on the rest of the car, but I don't really like the idea of using mudflaps to blend the front height to the side height. Would it be better to buy sideskirts and paint them black too so they don't appear to be there?
3) Does anyone have any feedback on the RE Amemiya front? How durable it is, how fitment is, what material it is?
4) Where is the cheapest place to buy a genuine RE Amemiya front?

I've also sent PMs to ELITE-RX8 in Australia and another fellow. Hopefully I can pick their brains a little. I'd like to know if the kit is Fiberglass or not!

I have the whole RE kit.
1) i think any side skirt will flow with the bumper
2) I suggest not paint the lip black and just keep it one color.
3) They are made of fiberglass and very strong. my kit havent cracked or anything after 5 years. only thing i get is rock chips on the bumper...

Mine looks nice with the black.
I checked Psychofox and his is like mine.
Perfect fit for the front bumper. Its thick and handles alot of scrapes.
I'm barely higher than a bic lighter. Need to get taller tires.
There's anothe rguy who painted his red like mine after I did. His is posted in the MM section under the Japanese thread.
Sam can get you the best price. Tell him Razz sent ya. PM lazi

I keep looking at all these pictures of front bumpers and the stock + stock front lip consistently just looks better and makes the car not look like something out of a cereal box....
it might be too late to save you, but spend your money on something better....

Psychofox and Razz1:
What I'd really, really like is to get a little more info from you guys. I've never bought a body kit before, and I know that RE is very good quality, but I've been warned away from fiberglass. I'll likely bump it up a bit (since I've never had one) and I'm told that while Urethane is great and FRP pretty good, that fiberglass is too brittle and requires a lot of repairs. You've had good luck, but I'm nervous about that. What do you think?
Also, I know this is asking a big favor, but could you please take a look at the line of the front for me? I really want to know if you you at the bottom fin of the front like it was cut off, does the front follow the curve of a stock 8? I'm not sure I'm being clear about that.
Also, it looks to me like the RE front is slightly longer than stock (which I'd really like), is that true?

Hi all, thanks for stepping in there! I'm still super-curious to hear about this, any ideas?

side view of the bumper. I think its about 1 or 2 inch longer than the OEM bumper. The scratches on the bumper was due to hit by a big piece tire on freeway at 75 MPH, no cracks at all
Bottom lip after going thru 21542112 speed bumps and steep driveway

If you want a longer bumper that would stretch out your car a bit you could take a look at either the KnightSports kit or the Vertex Lang kit. Both of them do a good job with that IMO.
