All done by me, and i only have beginners knowledge for the most part.

Some people emailed me and asked if i had to modify anything or drill the base of the Bulb. Didnt have to do anything, it was straight plug and play like most other HID installs are.

I paid 235 CDN. This is with warranty, so i went ahead and got a set from a local BMW Group buy as the BMW guys had good experiences with this "K-Light" kit.

Its a relatively easy mod, I say go for it, for any of you that want to change the bulbs out to Xenons.

No only on low beams... its a waste to put em on the high beams as I rarely use them. Only Time i do is if im flicking them to give someone the go ahead etc. This is bad for HID's as well if you flick em on and off.

So no need to go on high beams. Fogs I plan on doing next month with HID's.

FYI, the adapter is called a D2S to H7 adapter. It allows you to put an D2S bulb into an H7 socket. Why do this over just getting an H7 HID bulb? Because Philips only makes D2S/R and D1S bulbs and if you want the best, you go with Philips.

Gotcha, but for the money it would be hard to justify the extra for the phillips, I am quite hapapy with the set.. However if money were no object ofcourse the phillips would be in there.

I got a pair of our stock HID bulbs for 50 bucks on ebay. If you had to have 6000K bulbs, then yes, going with Philips 6000K bulbs would probably doulbe the price of your project.

Hey Rasp, where did you put the ballasts for your fogs? I got my second HID kit in, i just have to order the MS fog light brackets and i can start doing the fogs.

Thanks
Kris

This is the kit you have correct? http://www.jrtlighting.com/main.htm
6000k I believe..

I'm either considering that or MTEC HID kit on Ebay.. Which is much more expensive..

looks great. your parking lights now look yellow in comparison. ive been wanting to do a similar conversion for my beamer. but, that's the reason decided not to. ie, unless u change your parking lights, fog lights all the match the brighter hue of the HIDs, it's sort of a dead giveaway that you modded your lights. and, in CA it's technically illegal to modify your bulbs i think- tho i've yet to talk to anyone getting pulled over for it.
