Thumbs up Aftermarket Hoods

Show your aftermarket hood and comment...(Fitment, looks, CF, fiberglass,....) how do you think about it. There is a lot of aftermarket product out there and we never talked about hoods....

I have the Veilside D1GT hood in Carbon fiber. Fitment is perfect, quality is A+, and it looks fantastic.
It feels lighter than the stock hood, but I cant say for sure what the weight difference is. My engine bay temps for sure are lower, as I can see heat waves rising out of the vents at stoplights on hot days.
Ive had it on the car for about 9 months now in the Miami sun and no yellowing or browning of the weave (which is very tight compaired to a Carbon Creations hood) or milkiness of the clear coat. Edges are rolled.
I get compliments on the hood on a very regular basis, and it fits the look of my car well if I may say so.

that hood reminds me of Accolade's C-Spec Fenders... On the top part of the fender are those gills, would mixing that with that hood with those fenders look weird? I've never messed around with so many holes, I'm thinking it might look tacky...

DJ, I cant remember what company I ordered the hood from, it was some small racing shop in Colorado if I remember correctly. I must have called about 15-20 different shops across the US before I found this one. From what I could figure it was the only one left on US soil, lol.

I think all said and done the hood was about $800-850 shipped, and that was on clearance. New I think youre looking at about 1k to get it to your door. I never would have gotten it at regular price, but I was able to stretch my budget a little to afford it on clearance.

It always was my fav. hood Ive seen for the 8, and I couldnt shake the thought that if Id gotten any other hood I would have regretted it. Im 150% saticfied with my decision.

I've got the VIS OEM look hood

It fits pretty good, and much better than other carbon fiber OEM look hoods.

im over exaggeration. its alright.. i just didnt know what to expect, its pretty decent i dont realize fitment issues anymore unless im looking for them... no one says anything unless its pointed out to them.......

ps i second the question on that vis hood (the one in the link) never seen it before... is it me or is its like a cross breed between the vs hood and the varis hood?

The Varis hood is my choice. I've liked it for awhile now.

Though the C-Wing FRP hood in the link above looks good also.

does anybody know where I can get this hood (see link below) besides from andy's? I tried to contact the manufacturer but from what I was told they went out of business already...

If you notice the pic says the VIS hood is CF...but if you go to the site and look it up...it claims the material is fiberglass...anyone know for sure what it is?

the Varis hood is pure pimpness. I also like the Gernade hood, too, but they seem to have dissapeared

anyone see the C-wings CF front and rear doors! That is sweet. But $2k for the pair of rears and $2.6k for a pair of fronts, $4.6k for all CF doors- ouch!
