AIT body kit???

Ok so I've got a little bit of money saved up and was thinking of buying a body kit for my newly purchased 04 RX8 GT. As far as the painting goes I have a friend that lets me use his equipment and garage to do a little bit of work. I was looking for a kit that I could put on easily enough and have good fitment. I was looking at the AIT Mint body kit and was wondering if they are credible or if I should look on to something else.

Heres a link to one website that has it:

Also the AIT Racing website lists the material of the product as PRFP Composite however I do not exactly know if thats good or bad. Can anyone give me any help here?

I really don't know anything about this company, so I can't tell you whether or not ti's good quality.
But I know the one thing that people have issues with. The typical "aftermarket" bodykit fitment.
But as I said, I can help you not.

Love the mazdaspeed kit however im not really looking to spend quite that much on a kit. Im fine with having to do a little bit of shaving myself in order to get it to fit. I have seen a couple of websites that will ship this kit for 600 dollars total cost.

If anyone has pics of this kit installed on their car plz submit pics.

This is a replica of the Mint Blue kit, if you need to search, search Mint Blue, several people have the original kit, and like always any time your dealing with a replica your gonna have issues, shaving may not be the only thing you may need to do,,,

I personally know the guys at AIT when back in the day...the stuff they use is green...they do have better fitment than the other companies like vis..extreme..gd..although they require some prep work I think its the best fiberglass fitment around...

ait is not the worst fitment out there....but its far from perfect....if your happy with good enough then you should be ok.....but if you want your car to look a cut above the rest there is no replica company that will suffice.....keep in mind you typically get what you pay for....also with replica's you might spend more on fitment correction than the original would have cost you

Stay away from AIT the fitment is horrible, save up to buy authentic MS or something or check out a more premium supplier like www.body-kit.com or japanparts.

www.body-kit.com is Accolade. They have some nice fenders, but the reports (that I remember) were that the required a lot of work to get them straight. I know someone with the AIT Mint kit on his RX8. It looked good. He said that he was able to just bolt it on. No fitting was required. The fiberglass was thick and resisted bending. I pushed on it to test just how strong it was.

Use the site search for Buddy Club. I think you have to remove the front reinforcement/crash bar (whatever that thing is called) to fit the kit.

Modifying your car so that it reduces the crash worthiness, may be a problem with your insurance company if you ever have a problem. Plus, you may be taking your and any passengers life in your hands. I wouldn't recommend it.

Check the Pettit Racing site. They have a bumper of a style that reminds me of the Buddy Club.

Leave your car stock if you can't or don't want to spend the money on a real kit. Why ruin a nice car with a **** kit? If anything, just do a lip kit or something on the oem front bumper, R-Magic and several other legit companies make some pretty awesome ones.

Pettit ran out of those bumpers along time ago,,, they may have one laying around the shop or something but dont count on it...
It is a really nice looking bumper though, I would not aggree that it looks like the buddy club at all..

i would actually have to agree. i would either add a lip kit or just spend a lil more time saving up to get something legit. i am actually looking into getting the R-magic lip myself. but thats just my .02
