Another Strake thread...
I read the DIY for the strakes...make plenty of sense seems easy but I ran into a problem when I was about to put them on. My front splash guard..its adhered already t the body do I heat it up and take it off and then heat it up again to put it on? I dont want to ruin anything but I didnt even think about my front splash guards.

Are you talking about heating up the double sided tape? Sorry I don't have the splash guard, but I've got the strakes.
How many screws are holding it on? Is it 2 on the side and 1 underneath.
I don't think heating them up is neccesary. Remove the screws and gently pry it off. Take off as much as possible of the tape and replace with a new strip after the strakes are on. homedepot has some strong 3M ones.

That tape is sticky but...I think you should be able to pull it off with a bit of working it back and forth, it should just pop off. This will, of course, ruin the tape, but, you can buy the 3M trim tape at a lot of places to replace the tape that was originally on there. If you have the rear splashgards, you should have kept the extra clamps that came off of them so you have something to replace the ones you are going to have to pry off.
