Mugatu, went to the site again and I think I understood that it was US$135 +US$94 for factory painting. Please correct me if I'm wrong. I'm probably misreading something.

So my calculations are as follows:

US$135 for Spoiler
US$ 94 for painting
US$ 25 for delivery (approx)

Total US$ 254

Exchange rate 1.28 = Can$325 (plus duty approx $35) = Can$ 360

Please let me know if I'm wrong because at least this way I can tell the other RX8 owners in Toronto of the options and costs when we meet again in a few weeks time.

youre actually right, I forgot about the additional charge for painting. however, I have velocity red, and I can vouch that the color is a dead on match, regardless of what the dealer says. if you looked at my car, you wouldn't know it was a replica.

however when I had made the purchase almost 2 years ago, they must have had a deal, because I don't remember paying over $200 for it.

Regardless, at least you have another option for spoilers.

Cool. I know in the past that I have seen VR with spoilers and they look bang on from a colour perspective. So I beleive you. The guy at mazda was probably just covering his *** in case there was a mismatch if I brought mine to him for a re-paint, for which he quoted would be approx the equivalent of US$100.

However, I think my aftermarket spoiler adds 25 more hp than the stock! J/K If only it were that easy to get 25 extra ponies on the 8!

Now we have a few options for others.
