Anyone got the INGs Kit? - Updated test fitting pics on p4

While waiting for my INGs front bumper I was wondering if anyone had any pics of it other than that available on the ings-net website?

Going to be 6-8 weeks delivery to the UK as they aparently make each kit to order!

Please do. I figured the cost is about the same as the MS kit... but it's nice for something a little different. I'd love to see some "real" pics of it... so please do post 'em when you've got it done!

My concern, as with any kit, is the quality of the material. I heard Vivid (I think... maybe another vendors) going on about how sturdy Japanese fiberglass is. I know some of the vendors use the products they endorse, but I can't verify. So, I tend to listen to non-vendors a little more than vendors. Plus, living in Alabama, I can't really stop by their shop and see how it looks. I don't want a junky kit on my car.

That is why the urethane kits interest me, and why INGs hybrid material interests me. If orbist got the hybrid, I’d be very interested to see what he though of it. Then maybe when I’m in LA in July, I can stop by some decent shops.

My other concern is how well it fits to the stock bumper connectors. I really don't want to drill into my car just yet.

The two of these combined is why the Mazdaspeed kit is appealing. But i really like how the ING kit looks. Maybe with time some of this info will be revealed.

To tell you the truth not all urethane is good either. I have talked to many Japanese kit manufacturers and they have used and experimented with urethane. Most agree that aftermarket urethane even though sturdy.. loses its flex and form after 5+ or so years depending on manufacturer and process. If you are not going to be keeping the kit or car too long then it is a good solution.

The hybrid material is just fiberglass with flexible resin that causes the kit to bend with lots of cracking sounds but flex back to original shape since the resin is flexible (rubberlike).. I don't know how this bending affects the original rigidness of the part though.

just my 2cents.

wonder why they don't just use the same material Mazda is... it's not like that is an exclusive Mazda stuff.

I had to send it back.. had a crack in the side.. they accepted the return. I'm just going to reorder it from Bulletproof since it's down the ways, and about the same price with out the shipping.. 640 something. Hope I don't have to pay the tax on it. I still think it's one of the better looking wings.

The INGS spoiler grows on me... especially since I've gotten to see it at other views. If I got the INGS bodykit, I think I'd probably get it. With the MS kit or anything it'd be the UK lip spoiler OR the RMagic lip spoiler. I prefer looking subtle. No MS spoiler and definitely no RE Amemiya ricey "come fly with me" GT wing!

Will post pics as soon as its all fitted for sure

I did go for the hybrid, worked out only £100 more, but sounds like its worth it. Just counting down the weeks till it arrives.

Am getting my dealer to fit and spray it for me, that way I have some come back if anything goes wrong etc - worth the extra expense.

I have gone for a bit of a hybrid all round, the ctd-germany spoiler (see other thread), Veilside Ver2 side skirts, INGs front bumper and I already have the standard rear under deflector - as I don't like any of the other rear parts. Hoping that the under deflector is enough to carry the flow of the kit round to the rear.

Getting the spolier fitted tomorrow, the side skirts next week and the bumper as soon as it arrives. Will keep you all posted.

Does INGs use the stock US rebar? I've seen some US pics that had the black bar at the top like the US Mazdaspeed kit. I was wondering if it would be the same as the MS kit or if it would have to be removed? Hopefully not the latter...

If we could convince someone to make a urethane replica, it might be worth buying to see if it could be modified to fit... or better yet, have the mold on the replica modified to fit.

But crazeeimports (or whatever else is making replicas) doesn't seem to want to bite. Oh, well. I'm not going to pay ~1K to hack it up and decide I can't use it.

There is no black bar in the INGS kit. I've seen pics of it on other cars by other tuners and that area that you think is a black bar is body color. SO there is no bar... that is just how the thing is shaped and INGS chose to pain that section black as if it is a rebar cover.

I am also not sure if it really would be a problem as that "black bar" section comes down a bit. IT might be enough so that the US rebar is covered.

Its not really whether the "black bar" can cover the US rebar or not.... it is whether the bumper will FIT with the US rebar in place.

If the MS one fits, I don't see why it wouldn't.

Me either, if it is the same top 3/4s.

I could have sworn I saw some with a plastic thing like the MS kit has. I'll post links if/when I ever find them again.
