Anyone thought of doing an extreme two tone color???
I don't know, I want to start putting my Lightning Yellow rx-8 into show's next year, and I've heard (I have no knowledge of this however) that originality win's points at the show's. Now I believe I've brought up the idea of doing a LY/Black color mix before, and I was slowly working towards that, but now my thinkings been kind of along the lines of "my car already stands out, but what if i went extreme" now extreme and shitty/ricey are NOT to be confused here but I was thinking what about doing a two tone rx-8 with the LY and a type of blue? Like painting the CF hood I'm about to get, and turning it into a light blue, and getting a set of rims that are blue. doing the whole two tone thing only in blue and yellow. Obviously looking for opinions

The lines of original and ricer are skewed during a car show. As long as the install looks clean and professional, there's really nothing called rice anymore. You almost can't go too flashy or too over the top.
With that said, I think blue/yellow would not be a good choice. It would obviously make you stand out more.... but certainly not my cup of tea. Maybe you've just gotten used to the yellow, but let me remind you, it's bright as hell. That makes you stand out enough as far as I'm concerned. Yellow/Black is still flashy, but with three times the class of a yellow/blue scheme.

One of the biggest mistakes people make is choosing to wildly different colors to match and contrast. If you are going towards two tone then go yellow and then a slightly different yellow. Or grey and a lighter silver. for example:
Two tone isn't original, but an artistic eye is. Keep a light difference in contrast and you'll win the show, paint your car half blue and half yellow and you'll only win shows in New Jersey lol.
