Appearence Package

Hey guys, im looking to purchase the OEM appearence package for my 8. My dealer is too expensive, and someone on this forum suggested ordering from MAZDATRIX website. Their prices seemed decent to me but does anyone know if they are reliable. Anyone who has ordered from there before, please leave feedback. Also, are the pieces they are selling fiberglass or made of the same stuff that you would buy from thedealership?

Thanks for the input. Anyone else know if their pieces are fiberglass or the actual oem part?

I ordered my front air dam which is part of the appearance package from Rosenthal's.
Came in a timely fashion, was already painted and was priced right. Rosenthal Mazda has always been good to deal with and has good prices. You can get the rotary accents from them also.

it is true mazda didn't make them...but it is just a matter of time before dealerships start seeing them...low on the list of Mazda priorities...a few on the forum had it custom painted so they wouldn't have to wait...but maybe that was MS kit not oem appearance pack

I would be more than happy to sell you mine for half of what the dealer is charging. I am going with the MS kit, so i have no use for these anymore. What color is your 8. Mine is winning blue. Do you also want the OEM spoiler?

EDIT: Ok, well my plans to sell the OEM package off my car have been postponed for a few months. I'll let everyone know, in a new thread, when i'm putting them up for sale again.

What exactly are you selling from the appearance package? I assume the side deflectors, rear aero flares and front air dam? Post some pics if you can because I may be interested.

Question install

Do you all install these parts on your own? If so how simple is it? If not then where do you get them installled after you order them online?

I wont be installing them myself, although from other messages posted, a lot of other people do...I just dont have the time, patience, etc to do it.....my dealer is going to do it, only because I originally was going to have them order the pieces but they told me they werent available in black cherry so I was going to have them paint it.....come to find out they are available in the black cherry from mazda....so because I gave them a deposit already but didnt get the parts from them, I will have them do the install....

I installed the front air damn myself yesterday. Very easy. You must remove the front bumper, which is easy, three snaps in each front wheel well, two snaps under hood in addition to four screws. Remove each side marker and pull free. Once the bumper is off, remove the black factory damn and drill six holes, which are already marked so you cant get it wrong. Once that is done, pull the 3m tape backing off, fix the new air dam in place and screw the 6 nuts onto the bolts. Reinstall bumper. Took me about 1 hour using only 1 phillips screw driver, 10mm wrench, 10mm socket/driver, a drill and 1 07mm drill bit. Piece of cake.

The side skirts I bought used, so had no pattern. If you buy new with pattern, piece of cake. I ended up doing a lot of measuring, lipstick marking and praying, but they turned out great. I think it will be nerve wracking to a novice due to you having to drill holes directly into the sheet metal of your car. SCARY! But in the end, it was not hard to do, and with a patern, it should be no problem. (HINT = Use sharp drill bits here, if they are dull and you press too hard, you can dent your sheet metal before you ever drill a hole into it.)

Now I need to find a deal on the rear aero flares and I will be complete. BigOLund, I sent ya an email!!
