Body Kit Suggestions, AIT VS-GT or VIS Magnum
Hey all,
The RX8 is my first nice car so I've never really looked into body kits before. I think I have narrowed down my choices to either the AIT Racing's VS-GT...
http://www.ilovebodykits.com/product..._Body_Kit.html
or
the VIS Magnum kit...
http://www.ilovebodykits.com/product..._Full_Kit.html
Both are "kock offs" of the Veilside and MS kits.
I was wondering if anyone has anything good or bad to say about these kits. Are the fitments really that much of an issue?
Also, should I buy from a reseller or from the companies site directly?
www.ilovebodykits.com or any of the other body kit sites seem to be cheaper but is the quality of the product any less than if it bought from the AIT or VIS site?
Thanks for any help.

There is a thread about 6 spots down from this one titled ilovebodykits.com check it out and you be the judge.
Remember you get what you pay for when it comes to body kits. You'll spend the same amount or more just to get it to fit right.

Save up for another couple months partner, especially if u want to get the authentic MS kit (has warranty). Is freaky expensive but is pretty much plug-n-play kit, unlike most of the rest.

AIT is somewhat decent, but i still wouldn't put any replica bodykit on my car. If you have to look at replicas because of the price, don't bother, your car will be nicer without it.

Well I did see where people said ilovebodykits wasn't the way to go. Just from tabbing around the forums I saw where a few people said the VIS kit was good and they had no problems with fitments. I was just wondering if anyone has had any first hand bad/good exp.
I hit a 18 wheeler tire a week ago or so on the freeway so have to get my front bumper replaced anyways. I'll probably go through insurance and just pay the $500 deductible and get a nice front bumper but I'd be stuck paying the bill for the rest of the car.
I'm a college kid and am not made of money so paying $3000 for a full body kit is a little out of my range so I'm trying understand my options a little better.

no, honestly, i think you should go for the replica kits.
i'll tell you why.
if it fits fine then you can say, "hahah bitches" to everyone on the forums and if it doesnt fit fine and you have to spend a lot of extra money in fitment, well, then you are right where you would be if you bought the authentic pieces.

I've sort of came to terms with the fact that a new kit is going to cost more than expected though. I've been picking up extra shifts and cut back on my beer money.
I think I might go with the Veilside / AIt kit though. I like how it's not ricey but people will notice it's not stock either.

if you want not ricey, but not stock. go for a mazdaspeed replica. people notice its not stock, but it still has really clean lines. ings is similar to the veilside, but far more tasteful imo. personally, im going for the buddy club kit.

Looks to me like they buy from the companies direct then resell for cheaper. I dont understand why it would be such a bad idea which is why I asked. Seemed like a legit question to me.
