Brake dust!!!!!!!!

Brake dust!!!!!!!!
The brake dust situation on this car is pretty nasty in the front.
I found a pretty good product to prevent the brake dust from building up and thought I'd share my experience.
I used a product made by Zymol. It's a wheel protectant.
You simply spray it on and let it dry.
No rubbing or overspray problems.
Once it is applied you simply spray the wheels off (after the dust builds) with water and the dust comes right off and you have shiny wheels again.
Works pretty well!
Aside from that, has anyone tried a ceramic type brake or other dustless pad?

I use Honda Polish (you can find it at most motorcycle shops) - much easier than wax. Just spray it on an wipe it off. It does a pretty good job of not letting the brake dust adhere too hard to the wheel and makes cleaning much easier next time.
One of my old bosses ruined his wheels on his 3rd gen FD after using carbon fibre pads (or something like that) and not cleaning regularly. He actually let me keep the car for a weekend if I tried to get it off for him. I scraped at it for hours and couldn't get it off. But I had hella fun driving that thing around for the weekend!

Keeping the wheels clean
Has anyone heard of or used Rejex? I came across theire product which is supposed to form a polymer coating over the surface and keep crud from adhereing. Any experience with this stuff? Have you tried it on the rest of the car?

I had my front brake pads replaced per the TSB and I get so little brake dust now, it's not even funny. I even 'bedded' them this past week. Hooray for warranty-covered fixes!
PS. I use the NXT Booster Wax on my wheels and they look shiny and clean. I thought it was on this forum that I read this tidbit, but sealants are better than waxes to use on your rims b/c sealants can withstand the heat better--I guess similar to the product Wrench mentioned. Never heard of Rejex, but I'd consider getting some if I knew where to buy it.

No problem. And sorry, I forgot that thread was lengthy and started before the TSB came out. I changed the link above, so it should give you more succinct information (although go to the earlier link I posted (which is now in your reply) to see pics of the new pads).
Get them to paint your rusty rotors while you're at it! It's covered under warranty.

Man, I feel like Santa Claus all of a sudden :D
Be sure to do searches for this stuff in the future, but here's the thread for you: https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-exterior-appearance-body-kits-27/solution-rusting-rotors-39868/
Just be sure to contact your dealer in advance b/c when I went they had to order the paint (which is just a light grey; nothing fancy, but no more rust here so far).
By the way, did you know that they also apparently have stuff to paint your windshield wipers when the metal discolors?
Merry Christmas!!

You can try Kleen Wheels dust shades. They are inserted behind the rim and are actually pretty helpful. However, I had them on a new GTP for 15K, so I do not know whether they are harmful to brakes/rotors, etc...

The Kleen wheels are black and they will fit firmly behind the 8's 5 spoke rims. Checking the view of the 8's 'space' to fill, it will be noticeable, but not too much.

I wax my rims everytime I wash the car. I have a household duster I keep in the garage for specifically dusting off my rims when I come home from a run. Kind of ****.....but it works a treat.

Maybe I should have posted in this thread.. sorry guys....
Hey guys.. Mazda is not allowing me to get the TSB for the brake issue... Have you guys had any issues? It appears that there is an extra 0 in the number but my vin falls under the acceptable range.. to me that 0 is just there as a place holder.. is that true?
