Buddy Club front bumper and side skirt fitment pics

I just went to see my car this morning after they bolted on the bumper and side skirts. Everything wasn't tightened down as much as it will be in the end, but I wanted to post the few pics I took so everyone could see how well if fits just by being bolted and taped on.

They are still going to make a few adjustment so it fits more clean although there isn't much they can do about the way the hood lines up with the bumper. Also once the side markers are back in it should line up fine in the corners.

I'll post more pics when I get the car back (hopefully on Saturday).

yes, they are painting the bumper support (reinforcement) black and putting painting the mesh black too. FYI, I didn't get the rear bumper because you have to remove the rear support (reinforcement) to install the buddy club rear bumper.

The shop quoted me $300 to get the rear part of the bumper painted white.

oh ok...cause the ings front bumper also leaves the bumper support intact. it looks kind of weird. as long as you disguise it well. can't wait to see the finished product man!

btw...aren't you in maryland?

The ETA is Saturday, but I had to borrow a friends digital camera to take pics. I would have take pics from further away, but the car was close to a wall and I couldn't move back any further or make the camera zoom out any more.

Im_DANomite - I am in MD, I just updated my location in my profile, I guess I forgot to fill that in.

Are you talking about the big metal piece, or the plastic white piece?

The Tsunami bumper leaves the bumper rebar exposed as well....not as much as the Ings or Buddy Club....we had the bar painted black as well. Road debris has chipped away at the paint over the 8000 miles since we had the kit installed...it is about time to take the front bumper off and repaint the rebar and the screens. We're going to do it with some automotive grade paint, doing it ourselves, since it seems that this is something that will need to be touched up frequently.

Thanks for the info. Is it worth putting a clear bra type of stuff on the reinforcement just so you don't have to repaint it so often?

your gonna have to repaint the screens, so not that big a deal to repaint the rebar. Guess it just depends on how much freeway driving you end up doing...me, I put about 26k on my car each year...98% freeway. I pay the price for all those gravel haulers on the freeway.

Good point. My new job is only 2 miles from my house so I doubt I'll be putting a ton of highway miles on my car. I'll guess I'll have to wait and see how long it takes before the screens and rebar need to be repainted.

I just wanted to give anyone an update who was waiting for final pics. The body shop called me yesterday and said the paint didn't match as well as they liked. Their paint supplier guarentees a match, so their paint rep is coming out to see my car today to either give them another paint code or give them the ok to make a custom color.

At this rate I might just wait to pick up my car on Saturday.

Oh well, at least they didn't try to release it to you with mis-matched paint. Sounds like a decent body shop.

That's what I'm getting nervous about when thinking about ordering some body panels. I've got to find a body shop with an excellent rep around my area...

I'm going to try to pick it up Friday morning (assuming someone will take me up there). I should be able to post pics this weekend. I'm SOOOOOOO tired of borrowing my dad's Dodge Stratus. He's out of the country for 3 weeks so I can use it for awhile, but OMG is it horrible to drive.

AAAAAAARRRRRGHHHHHHH!

The body shop called and said the respray they did to the bumper still doesn't match right and they are going to call in another paint company to try to figure out why the paint isn't matching. On Saturday they will have had my car for 2 weeks. I appreciate their thoroughness, but this is crazy!

WHOO HOO!!!! The body shop is finally done with my car and i will be picking it up after work today. Hopefully I can borrow my friends digital camera again to get pics up over the holiday.

The reason it took so long was because they couldn't match the color exactly even though they used the factory paint code. They ended up having to do 2 resprays on my car to get the bumper to match. I'll be so glad to get my 8 back and to not have to drive my dad's Dodge Stratus (full of crap/trash) anymore.
