Can The Appearance Package Be Easily Removed?

Can you easily remove the appearance package items (except the front spoiler) from the car without damaging them?

The reason I ask is because I have absolutely no need for this package (I will be getting the Mazdaspeed body kit), but the only 8 that has the options that I want also has the appearance package, which means more money spent on my part.

I figure it would be easier to swallow paying for this package if I could remove some of the items and sell them. Is this possible?

Yes, the parts can be removed carefully. They use some of the same hardware and mounting spots that the MS kit has. The hardest part is getting the tape off of them afterwards, the accessories, that is. Also, heat ever thing with a hair dryer to loosen the adhesive tape before prying. The adhesive comes off the car with rubbing alcohol. You just need to be firm when you are pulling and go slow. Any mounting holes that the side aero flares left will be covered up by the MS side skirts.

If you have the rotor accents, they come off carefully too. The rear is held on only by the mounting tape and the front has two christmas tree pins that insert at the top inside of the V. Use a small thin bladed screwdriver to pry these loose and then a pair of needle nosed plyers to remove them the rest of the way before carefully prying the accent off.

So, what color? And since I replied first, if it is VR, please give me the chance to get the rear aero flares first. :D

Tell ya what....I am getting a Velocity Red, so you not only have first dibs, but we may even be able to work out a credit of some sort since I will definitely be purchasing your brake light mod!

Bummer.

I wonder if the dealer would have a problem removing them without damage if they are going to do the installation?

I bought the car today too!

One of the cars that I'm looking at has the appearance package installed.

I loathe the appearance package.

For anyone who's removed their entire appearance package, can you answer the following?

1. When the side flares and spats are removed, are there any holes visible and where exactly are they?

2. Can the front lip spoiler be removed cleanly to return the car to 'normal' with no damage, no scars, and no additional parts needed?

Lastly, would anyone here with a lightning yellow be interested in the appearance package, and would anyone like to trade me a non-spoiler trunk lid for one with the spoiler? I can't even bring myself to consider this particular car because I hate all this crap on it, even if I do like lightning yellow and it's a highly-discounted leftover '04.
