Can the emblems be put back on after removal?
I understand that the front badge, rear badge Mazda symbols along with the "Mazda" badge have two poles attaching them to the car and that the "RX-8" badge is double sided tape....I was wondering, I want to remove all of them black them out and put all of them back on! I dont want to do any body work and the black out will go with the cars overall theme!
Will it be hard to reconnect all four badges??

The MAZDA badge doesn't have any tape. It snaps in place, but it's a bitch to get out without damaging the part of the pole that catches. You can probably re-use them if you are careful.
Once you remove the MAZDA badge, there are these small black rings/grommets. Don't loose those or you're going to be screwed.
Good luck.

okay heres what you do.
1)get some dental floss
2)blow dryer
3)wal-mart automobile spray paint
-blow dry emblem to soften the adhesive. Use dental floss in a downward/side to side motion very carefully to remove emblem.
-paint them your choice color, easier cheapest way would be auto spray paint.
-buy emblem adhesive glue from autozone for like $5 dollars.
-smear thin layer of adhesive along emblem edges, carefully place back in correct holes/position

A friend of mine did this to his Honda. The thing is, after a while the spray paint will eventually start to peel and chip Then, you'll have black badges with chrome specs or chips showing. It looks real cheesy unless you keep them touched up all of the time...

or just remove them and never put them back, our cars look soooo much nicer w/o all the badges everywhere, if Mazda would have went with something smaller (i;e Protege sized) they wouldn't be so bad, but this car and the Cx-7 have emblems that seem so big even VW bus owners are jealous
