candy Coat on Carbon Fiber???
Hey i've been dreaming of doing this but i don't want to waste my money if its not gonna look good, anyone have any pictures of this kind of thing?
red candy coat on carbon fiber is what i would want to do.
I was thinking of purchasing some small interior carbon fiber pieces to try this out but, that is still about a $200 bucks.
any help is greatly appreciated!

The result would depend on how thick (how many coats to make it look even) the paint you apply is. Usually to obtain an even color you must apply numerous coats. That might have a tendency to hide the base color, in this case carbon fiber. But in the direct sun I think it would not have a problem seeing the CF under the paint.
You could also thin the candy color down to get it to go on thinner and more even with less coats. Be sure to clear coat after the candy color.

well i think you told me that before,so i researched it, and what actually happened is that they sprayed paint directly on to the CF weave without any clear coat ontop of the carbon fiber. so what the end result was that the paint had an imprint of the CF within it. You couldn't actually see the CF through the paint like colored glass. more like textured body panels.

and actually now they have CF hoods that have HEAVY gold flake in the clear coat which makes it look awesome on black cars. I wonder if such a thing could be done with lets say......red flake!
