All that I car is how much lighter is it over OEM...., I say Yes if you can paint it to look OEM and if you can mount a rear wing on it with out it cracking.

Go for it deedubb! I was gonna go for that setup too: CF hood, CF trunk, perhaps CF Roof or something. Don't mind them hating *****. If it's not stock, they won't like it. If it doesn't make it faster, they won't like it. It's a damn trunk! No performance gains there, but looks. If everyone is aiming for a fast car without regard for looks, try getting an Ariel Atom. Those are damn fast and light, but don't look as habitable as the RX-8.

true that a lot of people on this forum hate many things that can be done with the 8. They say "if i ain't ligher don't waste your time". Im not doing it for the weight savings, (thats a plus). I'm doing it for the looks, the wow factor, the "Hey that rx8 has a CF trunk to match his CF hood". Also just trying to be a little bit more different next to the avarage 8.

If you are looking to purchase carbon fiber trunk for your RX-8, here's a link to find where to purchase one Carbon Fiber Parts for RX-8
If you have a carbon hood on your RX-8 already, the carbon trunk would compliment it more.

if i did get a CF trunk it would look funny putting a painted oem wing on that. I would need a cf spoiler as well. Maybe r magic or vertex lip wing.

got a quote directly from tc sportline today, they said 475 for the trunk. Whoa! I'll find it cheaper somewhere else. They normally sell them wholesale but i'll find a reseller who can get me a better deal. On another note, i would have to go wingless. No oem wing if i get the trunk, prolly look sleaker..
