Carbon hood on white RX8?
So im torn, Sometimes i think it looks horrid, other times i think it looks sexy....
My theme in the car is black and white. So was thinking about picking up a Carbon hood (OEM STYLE)
what do you guys think? My mods are in my Sig.

I own a wwp and I was all stuck on CF bits as I've had them on past rides but the more I look at my car and pics with the CF hood I think it's not worth it.
From a performance perspective I think I read somewhere at the CF hood weighs more than the stock hood
From an aesthetic perspective the CF hood looks too prominent on the sexy lines of the car. With black painted A-pillars, roof, and tint, it looks better but even still some people would consider it too rice as it is heavier than stock.

You're going to have to post weights and brands.
I've yet to see a CF hood for the RX-8 weigh less than the OEM hood. Simply because the OEM supports itself, while the CF top layer hoods require reinforcement underneath.

vented cf hood is heavier than stock
thats why u think the OEM hood is lighter
however, mine is OEM style cf hood, its definitely lighter
i didnt weight it, but i notice it by changing the hood myself

Yeah I think im going to....
Im not into really agressive mods, just nice subtle things..... I was thinking maybe the CF hood would be too much for the car. But now that i look at it, i have 5% tint all way round, my new wheels are hyper black and ofcourse the interior is black and white now. So im thinking it would tie in nicely.
Im not into vented hood, i like the OEM version of it. Its a Seibon hood im eyeing by the way.

i did not vote since you were talking about an oem style cf hood.
if it were one of those daymn hot vented ones, i would have opted for you to get it.
since you are changing the hood to cf anyway, i suggest going for the looks..
a few lbs. won't really change anything but it has a significant bearing on appearance.
