P.S. I forgot to mention...please post pic's of your grapefruit shooter exhaust tips...I can always use a good laugh...

Well in response to your very rude post XDEEDUBBX...I have come to the conclusion that you really seem to like carbon fiber. I personally think it's silly and a waste of money....But king of all that rx8 riceness. I'm sure you really appreciate Autozone and pep boys APC crap import aisle...So go get your carbon hood and a set of Altezza's and STFU....And as far as the homosexual comment...I don't feel that it's approiate on this forum..I am not gay in fact I'm married to a beautiful woman...I'm sure you don't know what that's like..but anyway..I will not stoop to your level any longer...I will no longer post on YOUR thread or YOUR forum oh king of all that's ricey...Goodday and goodbye...BITCH!!!

OK - lets leave the bitchin' behind and get back on topic.
Save a few pounds - good. But can anyone tell me what this hood (bonnet over here by the way) will do for the crashworthiness? I'm quite keen to keep safe in my 8 and as far as I'm aware, the hood is an integral part of the front crumple zone, designed to absorb energy in a crash. Also, the original hood is design to protect a pedestrian (if you hit one that is).

XDEEDUBBX, Geek, relax. It's just a hood...XDEEDUBBX, remove that pic at once!! It is offensive.
Yes, the stock hood is whats best for your everyday driving and more efficient in a crash. The carbon fiber adds to the style of the particular driver. In most cases it saves a few lbs. but the main reason most people put them on thier car is for looks. That's not a bad thing. I've seen plenty of show and race cars with carbon hoods and just as many with out. It comes down to personal preference.

I feel the c/f bonnet needs to be part of a complete and fairly loud workover. In isolation it would look silly.
I won't be changing major body panels, save for possibly front and/or rear bumper sections if something takes my fancy.
