the clear corners ones look ok, but still have the oem look, they just remind me of the alteza tail lights from the early 2000s. im waiting to see them on jaemesons 8 also, he will have them on the car for may 27th. wekfest

Yeah I like the OEM look personally, I loath the tinted tail lights look, always have. They will look cool at night for sure though. But only a select few will spend 1k on tail lights for an RX-8 anyway so whoever likes these better jump on them.
I do think these will look way better on certain colors though.

Good god, 9k. $2200 for tails is ludicrous. Don't get me wrong, they are gorgeous. I just can't imagine spending that on a pair of tail lights. I guess the head lights are slightly more reasonble, clocking in at only $1800

There in lies the problem.
as this car has aged and the new owners get younger, they are less inclined than ever to spend that kind of money on something like a set of taillights. When the cars were still worth $30,000+, maybe but now? I just don't see it.
They'd rather buy some hella retarded wheel / suspension setup.
Now, that said; I'm sure there are some out there that will do it (I can think of a few owners in SoCal) but this product isn't intended for the masses.
I'm just hoping that tint is lighter in person than it appears in those pictures otherwise I worry about how it'll look on most colors.

Don't get me wrong, I've saved that site for if I ever get through the rest of my wants/needs. I'm with 9k though, the stock look is super nice and my preferred style. But it's definitely waaaaaay down on the to do list.
I've got no problem buying quality stuff, or expensive parts; I also feel like the designer/builders should get paid for what they're worth. But DAYUM.
Edit:
Those RX7s look good. It blends nicely with the rest of the scheme there.

You can mod get the S2 rears to fit the S1 with a little work though from what I've seen. I like the these, but at the same time like 9k I don't like the blacked out look too much. I feel like they black them out because the work underneath is lacking in quality honestly. They just throw in a bunch of LEDs. Wire them up, and charge way too much for them. If they put some work on the interior design of the housing and used some light diffusers to make them look more slick I think they would fit the style of the RX8 a lot better.

I'd be interested in something that looked like a modern interpretation of the S1 style. I've always liked the way they looked, my main issue is with the chrome reflectors. Never liked the way they look.

My favorite part of Jedi's comment. I do plan on purchasing the Clear Corners LED Tails, Headlight and Corner lights when my 8 comes back to life. They are expensive but the best looking IMO with great attention to detail. These are still cheaper than trying to buy Spirit R parts for my FD.
