Celica wing on RX8

After much deliberation I finally decided to use the Celica wing I had sitting in the garage for a year. I was hesitant at first as I planned to get the INGS lip but in afterthought I'm glad I did it. The fitment is actually pretty good and it came out better than I expected. Looks like the mazdaspeed wing but sits lower and without the metal brackets. It also reminded me a little of the RX7 wings. Comments?

Need better pictures. Looks like it might not be mounted far enough to the rear.

I like it. If it had been the god awful huge one of the last two years it wouldn't have worked. But this looks good. Nice job.

Looks good. What year Celica is that from. Also, what's wrong with your exhaust tips?

Thanks for the replies. The wing is from a 2000 Celica. Pictures were taken after the recent rain, hence the dirty dirty tips.
I mounted it as far back as I could, but the further back I went, the more difficult to drill because of the metal backing. I have some pictures of how the wing looked before I drilled hanging further back below. I actually prefer it the way it is now because it looked like a wannabe drag spoiler otherwise.

looks sorta like the wing on that white "undercover" "next-gen" "Mazdaspeed" prototype RX-8, if memory serves.

That actually looks really good! One of the best I've seen so far. How much if I wanted to go that route?

Not bad at all. Looks sorta like the stock spoiler. Great job with it.

Wow someone actually bought an aftermarket wing that goes with the look of the car? Someone should mark down this date as a great moment in history.

It looks a lot like the factory wing, except that it doesn't attach at the corners. Looks good. I think the picture I would like is looking directly at the side of the trunk. I'm wondering how flush it is with the trunk line.

Another photo (or 2) request. Could you take a picture from inside the car looking out the rear window. I'm interested to see where this wing hits in the window (how much it obstructs your view)....this wing is flat, where as the stock wing is curved and does not take up much in the rear window. Also, maybe a shot from the drivers seat, focused on the rear view mirror from an angle similar to what it would look like if you were actually driving. I hope this made sense)

Also, did you purchase it from a Black Celica (did that paint actually match our paint)...or did you have it painted?

Good job.

I'll have to try my hand at photography again to meet these requests...might be painful for some. I'll try to post them tommorow or friday.

You are correct, the wing does not follow the curve of the trunk line perfectly. But I think its close enough that I can live with it. The spoiler actually works well with the natural curved indentation on the top edge of the trunk. I'll try to post pictures to show you what I mean.

As for the paint, I owned a Black Celica prior to my RX8. And the paint is a pretty close match but maybe not as "Brilliant".(could be just the wear on the wing)

Total cost for acquiring the wing and installation: $0

But it seems like they go pretty cheap on ebay as demonstrated in a previous post.
