MA Clear bra is it worth it?

I have a clear bra on my 8 and I think it makes it look worse. It makes the bumper look cracked, and it is hard to keep clean.

I don't think it protects well enough to be worth it. Any ideas on how to make it look better on the car.

Personally I just bought a bumper that was already clear bra'd and I took it off. When I took my lip to get painted I asked how much they would have charged to paint the whole bumper and lip and they qouted me $300.00 which is what it would cost to get it clear bra's so.......

But I surely would get the headlights done, I wish I would have done it when it was new.

if you drive highways, yes.

If you can stand the sight of seeing all the rock chips building up on your bumper, or have the means to get it repainted often, then that's fine. But a clear bra is a wise investment.

I have an frp bumper, and its black. I repainted my front 2-3 times in a year before I got mine clearbra'd. I've gone two years without a repaint thus far with a clear bra that cost me 420 bucks. And I have no rock chips on my bumper.

Yes it is absolutely worth it. The front of my RX8 is covered in rock chips and I've already had to repaint my bumper once already. However, my SEIBON hood is fully covered with clear bra and looks as good as the day I bought it over 2 years ago. That, mind you, is in the hot AZ sun!

The kit itself isn't usually the major expense but the application. I know there are pre-cut products out there for the RX8. I believe they retail for about $500.

I wish I would have worked a clear bra application into my purchase deal. It would have saved me from a lot of headaches.

You can get one on the entire hood? That would be sick because it would actually protect the entire front. It is so annoying that I still have small chips on the hood. I want to fill them in but I fear it will look bad.

Random but today is going to be a fun day. My 8 is my only car at the moment with semi-slicks and it just snowed I wonder if im gonna make it to school.

clear bra

You can do it yourself with practice but it's not that easy. On ebay NUSOLIS (just search RX8 clear bra) sells it precut for under 50 bucks shipped. That's for the entire kit: hood, bumper, fenders and mirrors. I have done about 20 different cars with this product (all friends and friends of friends for beer!) and it does not fade and is easy to take off and even reapply a new one years later.

It's a bit of an art to install it but you put it on like tint with a soap and water solution and use of a hair dryer. The flat surfaces are easy enough to do but the curved bumper is tough even for someone who has done a few already. It takes patience and may not be for those who are not very handy.

It's worth a try even if you just try the hood and fenders.
