Damage estimate..Help?

Some kid in my class backed his truck up into my car...and i gotta get it fixed now

we'd rather not go to insurance cuz its not terrible but i dont know how much it would cost to repair. I have a friend at a body shop, but i dont know if he can really hook me up with a great deal since its not his shop or anything

the bumper is pretty much undamaged except for a paint scuff or two, but the fender is pushed in pretty good right over the side marker and theres a point near the top of the fender

what do you guys think this is gonna run me?

It would probably cost you around $600 for that. I'm not sure what kind of discounts the body shop gets but this is around what you will be paying.

I would say in the range of $500 - $750 from a good body shop

wow.... i found a place that sells primed fender for 135....i think im gonna take that and just get it painted... the bumper actually isnt damaged at all, it just needs a bit out paint

hopefully this route will be a lot cheaper than thoes 500+ estimates....

I am a licensed insurance appraiser and work at a shop in CT. I would look for a used fender in the same color and just bolt it on if I were you. Then just have the bumper painted if it needs to be be. If you buy a new fender, you will have to blend into the door and do all of the R&Is on the door. It probably would cost more than what the others are quoting you at a good shop. Try searching on www.car-part.com for a fender.

The repair shouldn't exceed $500.
