Debadging after 18 months: paint discoloration?

I've owned my silver RX8 for 18 months (it was manufactured in Feb 2004). Will removing the "post-less" RX8 emblem show visible discoloration in the paint? In other words, I'm concerned that the car may have faded slightly over time and that the paint under the emblem may be a visibly different shade of silver.

Thanks!

P.S. Please excuse me for starting yet another debadge thread... I searched through ~20 existing ones and didn't see anything about faded paint.

I did it to a '98 durango about a year and a half ago with no problems. The only person who could tell anything was me and then the sunlight had to hit just right. So I really don't think you will have a problem with an 18 month old car. Please let me know how it goes because I have been thinking about doing the same but I don't know if any of the badges are posted.

it shouldnt be noticable, as long as youve taken care of the paint (wash/wax)

As long as you didn't park it outside in the sun every day, I wouldn't think it would be a problem. And I doubt a problem in that short amount of time no matter what.

There was no discoloration, though the next morning's dew made the emblem footprint stand out for some reason. But I hadn't polished/waxed it yet... that took care of it.

Shortly afterwards, my rotary was blessed by His Noodly Appendage:
