Debadging any idea?

You "cant" do it yourself, the Mazda and the Symbol have pegs to hold them in. So you would have some holes in the back of your car. But if your up for that you can debage it yourself

okay, yet another debadging..ugh..anyway, the Mazda and the both Mazda symbols have posts, you can't just yank them off without holes showing underneath, this requires bodywork and blending to fix (or you can cheese it and have it backfire a few months down the road). The RX8 comes off with light heat and lots of care. average price from a reputable shop to do this should run you between 200-300 as there is some labor/materials involved in doing it properly, especially the front.

Yeah it does look clean without all the emblems in the back. Im getting MS front in a few weeks so im not worried about the front.

300 for the back is about right... anything lower is either a "hot" ghetto deal or you have some hookups. No matter what they'll have to fill in the holes and repaint to match in two spots in the trunk area.
And the front when I debadged looked really good. Much smoother in lines. Was wondering if I could have airbrushed the symbol back on... (The paint shop offered this to me)... hmmm... could have been interesting with white airbrush on Silver car. Feint sign of Mazda, but not too crazy.

$400-$450 for debadging the rear. They sanded down some of the clear coat - the entire rear from the rear quarter behind both back doors, painted and then reblended back in the clear coat. There isn't a single place you can detect a beginning or end to the sanding, repainting, and clear coating. If you have someone do it girl, make sure they do it right. $130 is ghetto and I have no doubt you'll see tape masking lines when they're done. I can email you some much more details pics if you would find them helpful.
The final pic is still in the shop; my spoiler isn't reattached but you get the idea. Couldn't be happier with my cleaned up rear :D

I was looking into doing this too. I talked to a guy at a body shop and he was saying that they might not want to do this because of what it can do.
He said that most places weld up the holes and says that depending on the weather, the weld could swell up and you'd be able to tell.
So I was wondering how you got yours debadged? What did they have to do? Did that use body filler? weld? Let me know.

Wow...that's quite a bit of work! Very thorough.
I recently got my RX-8 and was wondering how difficult Mazda made debadging and I see the answer is "VERY!" Pegs for both the name and the symbol...argh! I guess I'll have to be satisfied with just getting it tinted.

I was quoted $500 from Mazdas collision paint shop....for the back. They paint the entire trunk and blend into the sides as well. They do paint work for Mazda and Mercedez.
You guys are going to laugh at this, but, I had one of those thick satin fancy shmancy gas tank covers and the factory one that was all wrapped up in the trunk. Well, the heavier one is much better but, ooooh the silver circle on an all green car.... I had that biach painted. $75. It is very snazzy now. No one notices it but me.....and I am sure the bolts are important...har har har.
Be aware that the paint may be different.........if you are going to make it clean.....make it clean....do it right, spend the money....people will notice your paint
I would suggest waiting until you have something you are installing near that area so it will all be the same.....send us pics... I am sure it will look great....
